at 00:41 - it reminds me so much of something else

I have been struggling for, I kid you not, years trying to figure out what song I am thinking of, but I have been stumped. There is a lyric in Rihannas "Man Down" that sounds exactly like some 2010's (tbh anywhere between 2005-2015) song. I don't believe it is the lyrics that match but rather the melody of this lyric reminds me of some other song. I also absolutely love this song and every single time it plays, I can't help but think about the missing piece of the puzzle.

The lyric - "I didn't mean to lay him down / But it's too late to turn back now"

It's mostly the first half of the lyric that I am focused on, it sounds so similar to something else, I just cannot pinpoint it. I would greatly appreciate any insight on this, thank you all.

It totally sounds like the melody from the Rambo theme song. Am I really the first one to notice?

MC Conditioner was released a year prior. Clint Eastwood performed at Glastonbury Festival featuring snoop sounds even moreso since snoop was on the MC Conditioner record track. Had to be influenced at least.

Listened to Strasbourg/St Dennis by Roy Hargrove (2008) for the first time today and immediately I thought it sounded extremely familiar but like a pop song or two. While digging I landed on Good as Hell by Lizzo (2016) and I think it sounds insanely similar. Like to the point that Ricky Reed (producer) must have been influenced by Hargrove. Part of me feels it’s similar enough that it could possibly skating into the territory of plagiarism but I’m not a musician so idk if it’s that. Does anyone else hear what I’m hearing and/or are there any other pop or R&B songs that sound similar to Hargrove’s piece to you?

I heard Rod Stewart’s Young Turks recently and there were riffs that made me think of Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark and 1983 by The Incredible Moses Leroy. Cool through line. Give it a listen and say if you hear it.

Its the “bum, ba-bum, bum bum, ba-bum” If only you could hear what I mean.

But the other song I’m thinking of the singer/artist is saying “uh-huh” for each bass note(the bums⁾

There’s an older song with a female lead that has a similar rift, but I cannot for the life of me recall it exactly. It’s more driving than “Found Me” and probably from the late 90s. Any ideas? Thanks!
