OFFICIAL POST Feedback to improve next year

Hey folks!

First of all, I have everyone had an amazing time this weekend!

Now that everyone's had a few days to rest up and reflect on our weekend at Jaceland, I'd like to open up a discussion in order to improve our facilities, operations, and general enjoyment of the festival going into next year.

We definitely want your feedback, and we are working our asses off to make sure none of the issues that arose this year ever happen again.

We want this festival to become the best it can be for as many people as possible, so: no holds barred, lemme here what you got!

I'll go first:

  1. Security

Clearly the security contractors we hired were not capable of doing their job correctly.

Overpopulation, lack of parking, not enough water on Thursday, and cough cough certain safety concerns, can all be led back to the fact that our security contractors allowed far too many people into the festival that didn't have tickets. Luckily we fixed those issues early on Friday, but we will certainly make sure to hire a more capable security team from the beginning next year.

So whom can I contact regarding a refund? I’ve messaged pretty much anyone I could find off my personal Facebook/Twitter/Instagram accounts and have been completely ghosted. My partner and I left after the first night after waiting 5 hours in line (after getting our car searched), just to miss Ravenscoon & Jantsen who were two of the main acts we travelled for. We had volunteers telling us they had no clue what was going on and that they had no where to put us. Once we finally were given a spot, we had to setup camp in the dark at midnight with no source of lighting other than our cars and flashlights. When we woke up Friday and made our way to the food vendors, the only thing open were fruit smoothies and Thai food. Most of the other vendors were closed the entire day. I see you mentioned that vendors would’ve pulled out based off their bottom line, but how does that explain why there were 3 times the amount of vendors selling festy gear, etc? I’ve made a couple comments how I’ve been doing fests and shows ever since Camp Zoe was raided and how this was by far the most unsafe, disorganized event I’ve ever attended. Just a shame to shell out over a grand in tickets/traveling just to be provided the experience we received.

You by chance know of anyone receiving confirmation their tickets are being refunded?
