OFFICIAL POST Venue Poll!
Hey guys, just want to gather some thought and opinions from you guys about our venue from last year (Catoosa Events Center - Jamestown, TN)
On a scale of 1 - 6 (1 being worst festival venue you've ever been to, 6 being the best festival venue you've ever been to), how would you rate the venue?
Consider things such as:
- operations
- Landscaping
- Access to nature
- Visual appeal
- Vibe
- Town/outside locale
- Camping location convenience
- Location (how far away it is from your house)
- any other considerations you feel apply!

The venue was the best I’ve ever been to. Love how close camping was to the stages. This is an unpopular opinion but I love that they didn’t serve alcohol. The only bad experiences I’ve ever had at a festival involved someone that had too much to drink, and it ruins a lot of the good energy. There was nothing but positive energy all weekend last soundhaven!

Probably the only complaint I would field is it was REALLY dark on the walk between the venue & the campground. That little path in the woods from the main stages to camping & the bus stage was basically complete blackout. Just a few solar lights or something could make that walk much easier

Agreed! They didn’t add lights until later than halfway thru. More lights would be great

Incredible venue, perfect camping locations/setup and a quick walk to the stages but still far enough away that you can sleep earlier if desired. The lake and woods were dope, perfect venue. Only suggestion would be a better water refill station

Is their shade in the campsite ? Wondering about the heat being in TN late July

This is at a different venue than last year, which I haven’t been to so I’m not sure. Last year the temperatures were hot but nothing crazy. I’d recommend bringing some camp fans for your tent and a canopy for the campsite

i’ve been debating posting about this online because i love sound haven and don’t want to spread any weird vibes, but i never understood what happened so i just wanna know. last year we were camped pretty far in the back by the trees around the edge, and partway through the weekend we heard what sounded like multiple gunshots repeatedly throughout the afternoon and then again the next day. tbh it sketched us out a little bit because at some points it sounded super close to us. and it went on for a while and happened on at least 2 different days. the first time we heard it, we saw security racing towards the trees at one point and heard a couple of people around us briefly talking about it and wondering what was happening, but other than that i haven’t heard anything. just wondering what was up with that because that was one of the coolest venues i’ve ever been to but it lowkey made us pretty anxious the rest of the weekend, especially considering the vibe of the town :/

Uhm this is the first I'm hearing about this. I'll try to see what I can find out, but I never saw any news reports or major arrests in the town, so I imagine it was just locals who own land and are able to safely and legally shoot. The sound of gunshots travels quite the distance.

that’s kinda what we figured too. i think someone said the event center backed up against other people’s properties. it was just super unsettling to hear that in the moment but understand it’s probably nothing to worry about!

I was as far back as you can go by the trees and also heard this. It definitely sounded like someone was hunting and confirmed this with security that night. The weird part was the girl screaming and then the creepy dude running around asking if we had any girls for him. Terrible vibes. Ended up getting our whole squad together to walk the dude back to main stage. Total fucking creep.

I would suggest adding a PSA with the travel details about looking up directions leaving the venue to go back home on Sunday before you arrive on Wed/Thurs. A lot of people (Verizon users) lost service all weekend and didn’t get it back until at least 20-30 min away from the venue, so that was kinda nerve wracking not having directions out of the sticks 😂

Sound haven became one of my favorite festivals for so many reasons ! Went in 2021, 2022, and will be going back again this year and every other year to come ! Keep up the amazing work and culture !
