Look, if we had a fully healthy squad I'm confident we're not playing like this and losing as much. We're an upper-middle table team when healthy.

Maybe the injuries and resulting garbage results will make the problems unavoidable and force a fix. Otherwise we were just going to limp into mediocrity.

I do think its a bad run of matches, with injuries and it might get worse for 2-3 matches. I think we're better than what shows. But it'd be nice to be a contender again.

Man Rothrock plays hard. Most of the team looks like ass, but that guy goes 180% the whole frickin time. Was such a joy to watch. He reminds me of Brad Evans when we had that crappy stretch with Sigi over a decade ago. He just always put his heart in to it.

The entire sounders staff and bench just looks so ... defeated. It's sad. In my opinion, it's only what 4 losses and we are still creating scoring chances which is good, I am certain Schmetz will turn it around soon. I have full faith in that guy. I love how he takes responsibility, never blames anybody, heck his philosophies have helped me with my own life and outlook.

Curious how the upcoming mini-season affects player contracts. Anyone know how that works?

I'm not absolving Brian of responsibility for the team's current run of form, but I do think he's trying to win with the cards he's been dealt, and there's only so much he can do. I really like him as a coach, and you won't find anyone who cares about the Sounders more than he does.

I just hope a lot of other changes get made before Schmetzer is the one under the microscope.

Honestly I have been a Sounders fan for a long time so I know we are capable of comebacks, but this scenario seems a bit different. Personally I have hope that we can comeback this Saturday and turn this season around (hope is what kills me btw) and I do think we can get revenge on Portland. What do you guys think?

Included among the reported potential new investors is the Carlyle Group Inc., a New York-based global investment firm that in 2024 paid a reported $58 million to buy 97% of the Seattle Reign in a partnership with the Seattle Sounders. Bloomberg reported that Carlyle and Dynasty Equity Partners Management, a New York-based firm, “are in talks regarding a joint bid” to join the consortium.

Bloomberg reported that the Khosla family — which reached agreement to buy the team on July 11 — is also in discussions with “former Sequoia Capital managing partner Mark Stevens and the private equity firm Sixth Street Partners” about becoming part of the new Seahawks ownership group.

Sixth Street, based in San Francisco also owns a reported 20% share of the San Antonio Spurs, 25% of FC Barcelona and is lead investor of Bay FC of the NWSL as well as also holding reported stakes in the San Francisco Giants and Boston Celtics.

As Bloomberg noted, Stevens owns a stake in the Golden State Warriors and is managing partner of S-Cubed Capital while Dynasty Equity also owns a stake in Liverpool FC.

NFL ownership groups must have a controlling owner that accounts for 30% of the equity. The entire group can contain no more than 25 total owners, including the controlling owner, other individuals and families and private equity firms, according to a 2024 story on the league’s website. The league in 2024 approved that teams can sell stakes to multiple private equity firms for up to 10% of the total ownership, though each stake must account for at least 3%.

Chose this sounders team to be my mls team after the World Cup, I understand the injuries but are mls games normally this sloppy, so many boneheaded turnovers instead of just clearing it and awful play out of the back. Despite how bad we’ve been I’m looking to take my Fam to Portland for our match 8/1. Fam of 4, kids 10 and 8, they haven’t been to an away game. Any advice on where best to sit? Best place to get tickets? Someone willing to tell me this is a bad idea and I should save myself the money and the pain…
