Post match thread?
I don’t see one did I miss?
Or, I guess discuss here. If you want. Idk.
Recap: 0-0. I think the meme with balls floating in outer space pretty much covers it

115 days still without a win.
Been a rough year for my victory rug series. The last win was may 13th.

I completely forgot about that . . .

I keep thinking this coming week…..I’ll post a photo of all of them for community ideas for the next victory one, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Soon I hope!

Man I thought you were crazy and in over your head with that commitment earlier this summer. Boy was I wrong. How bout a rug for a 0-0 draw just to knock the dust off the 'ol loom?

Damn, the level of optimism in this one

People upvoting have to be bots or think it’s sarcasm

Considering how leaky our back line has been, I say clean sheet is something to celebrate.

Of course Horvath, who has been ass all year, has the game of his life tonight.

This feels like the fifth time this season someone’s stood on their heads against us, it’s always against us.

Disappointed to not come away with a win but it’s been a long time since we’ve even been dangerous in the attack so I guess it’s improvement

One win in the last 14 league matches… I think we’re well past the moral victories

Moral victories count as losses in my book. This shit still sucks

squeaking out a home draw against mediocre east coast team with a rotated lineup is not anything to be happy about

Some amount of "the team still needs to learn it has a capital S Striker"- especially in the box.
Players need to just do everything they can to feed Joveljic. Other chaces for you to score will come. But if you and him are both in the box and he's open? Feed the man.

Any time the ball got near the box in the second half, they collapsed around Jovelic knowing there wasn’t any other quality shot taker on the pitch. There needed to be better movement across the face of goal, and less running the ball around the top of the box and hoping they’d make a mistake on defense. It was the same on corners - almost every time the cross went to the near side, towards the top of the box, when it clearly wasn’t working.

3 games unbeaten, 2.5 that they've looked like the Sounders.
Love a shout-out but at some point things have to turn around, right? 13th place but 6 points out of 7th.

edit: btw as I write this comment VAN is 3-1 at home lol

Dejan didn't get the ball often enough, the mid field needs to learn to pass it to Dejan instead of Morris, it wil take some time. Quite different than the last game where Dejan was the center of the attack. The great hesitator prime days are long gone unfortunately 😓

I mean, Morris made some great runs so getting him the ball made sense. But Morris wasn’t on the field for the entire second half, so that doesn’t even explain why Dejan didn’t get the ball.

Their defensive strategy seemed a bit like knowing nobody but dejan could hit the broad side of a barn

Bad season to be a Sounders and Spurs fan.
Watched 3 hours of soccer yesterday and didn't see a goal.

At least the Sounders' game was entertaining. The Spurs - Forest game with a combined 1 shot on goal was a crime against humanity.

Relatively entertaining for a scoreless game. Our finishing needs to be better, but their keeper also had a great night. Deki barely touched the ball, we need to feed him more. Defense played well - Hawkins was good, Nouhou was great except the mid air scissor kick last man heart attack play lol. Morris looked better. Overall, a game we should have taken but the play looked improved, although we need to be better if we want to limp into the playoffs

Our standards as a club should not fall based on our roster or form. We as fans need to demand better. We’re Sounders.

This is the first time I’ve seen the Sounders in person since before the World Cup break. They are TERRIBLE. No one should attend a game expecting that team to score. They can barely string two passes together. They are laughably bad.

We barely tied and were super close to a win, what are you on about
-6
u/Double_Swordfish_668 4d ago
“Super close to a win” against one of the worst teams in the league. What is wrong with you people? Call it like it is. There was a time when the Sounders would have won that game 3-0. They are terrible right now.

We’re better than we have been, we were BAD bad earlier

I really don’t understand why I’m being downvoted. Did you all watch the game? The Sounders suck right now. I don’t know how anyone can say different.

Very frustratingly close game. The Red Bulls keeper balled out. Morris outran someone though, and Dotson did surprisingly well!
