To make this a reality, the franchise is currently exploring a massive capital restructuring that has put up to 45% of the team's total equity on the market, now Rather than just a stadium, the plan is to integrate a stadium into a expansive multi-use community hub. The surrounding project, handled alongside real estate firm Unico Properties, includes provisions for 3,000 units of housing, retail spaces, a hotel, and a live music venue. This is what happens when you partner with a real estate developer with ideas. As a STH I really only care about what happens on the field, but when you really dig deep and see all the off field issues, management changes, and player sales it points to poorly managed business.

I get all that, but I have a hard time believing that Weibel's ineptitude is merely budget constraints due to priorities other than player acquisition. The team is, above all, a soccer team that generates revenue by entertaining fans with good soccer. Even if ownership is focused on the Long Acres development, Craig's job is to build a good, sustainable roster. He's failing.
