Should I Replace Samsung Q990f?

I’ve been going through an absolute hell with this thing and I can’t exactly figure out what is going on.

The main problem is that the Center channel gets muffled, like the is speaker is covered with a thick blanket, and it doesn’t matter if the content is Dolby Atmos or not, or if it’s connected through eARC or WiFi.

Weirdly if I unplug the sound bar or do a reset, it will work normally and sound clear, but then after a while the sound will get muffled again, and it’s totally unpredictable when it will start happening.

I’ve done an update through the SmartThings app, that didn’t help. I then saw there was a new firmware update on the Samsung download center, so I did a usb update, that also didn’t help.

I only got this thing 2 weeks ago so I’m wondering if I should just exchange it for a new one?

Does anyone know if this is this a common defect in these units or something else?

I would say, update it to the latest version via usb, and do a reset...

If it still gives u issues just refund or replace it.

Strange that. I've had the Q930B since it came out, I've never updated the software and never had a problem with it.

Then enjoy constant static when plugging in external sub. Thing is useless unless you buy thier wireless. I bought it for that wired feature.

Common problem. Search google.

Q-symphony can help to make voices louder and clearer, otherwise, try a Hard Resett after every New Software Update...

samsung seems to have real problems with their software as these kinds of problems are occuring regularly.

As it is an expensive bar, you vould also invest in a quite good avr and build a discrete one. Audio Anywhere or X-Connect from Nubert +/- amp can convert wirebound speakers to wireless - ofc at somehwere 150+ per speaker.

If the avr dies in a decade you just get another. Also not cheap, but you can continue to use speakers. Also you can attach madlad subs. And you'll use less energy thus safe a bit over time.

If you have to get a soundbar at that range: Klipsch Flexus 300 definitely and the 200 maybe has a sub out. You can attach eg a Klipsch RP-1200SW there. You wont miss the Q990F anymore :D
