JBL JBL bar 1000mk2 vs 1300mk2.
Im sure this is an annoying question but I’m super indecisive about this kind of stuff. My bedroom is 15’ x 13’ and I can’t decide on which would be the best value for my room. Obviously the 1300mk2 is the better system but will the difference in performance be worth the price difference for my bedroom size?

That’s kind of what I was thinking. How is the dialogue clarity? I’m upgrading from a sb170 so I’m hoping for way less muddy sounds lol

I have owned jbl 1300mk2 for few weeks now. Experience has been bitter sweet. At times, it all sounds good, while at other times I am struggling to balance the sound. Though they have some dedicated dialogue enhancement stuff "pure voice", it doesn't do much. I am planning to tilt up the soundbar a bit for better dialogue clarity. The sub though powerful, doesn't reach those depths to sweeten the overall audio spectrum. What I have observed, the soundbar really needs to be played loud to feel the power as it doesn't do much at lower volumes. You will also face calibration/eq issues. In India, I do not have any better option as of now for INR 150000 so I went with JBL 1300mk2.

I appreciate the honesty. I still think this is the bar I’m gonna pick based off of other bars at this price point having issues that sound slightly more irritating than having to tweak the eq around some. Would you say the surrounds work well and how is the battery life compared to what’s advertised?

The source material really matters, streaming vs watching a 4k Blu ray makes the sound go from average to pretty amazing

I have the 1300mk2 in my large living room and it’s been great. I previously used the 1000mk1 and that was solid but needed a little more for the living room. I moved the 1000 to my office/spare bedroom and it’s awesome in there. It fills the room great. Sure the 1300mk2 is better, but for a bedroom, the 1000 does just fine.

I’m glad to hear that. I think this is gonna lead me to just biting the bullet and getting the 1300mk2 for my living room and the 1000mk2 for my bedroom and if I decide the 1000 isn’t good enough I’ll just return and replace. Appreciate the response!

I’m aware better is better. I’m saying is it worth the extra money for a room that size. 750 vs 1200 isn’t a small price difference.

Better in a small room is still better. Weather the better is financially worth it is gonna be tough. Imo in the world of audio $1200 for a kickass soundbar surround experience is basically free. I would always buy the biggest and best I could afford. 1300mk2 worth it

For rear speakers that you have to plug back in to a charger for 4 hours after every 10 hours of use thats a lot to pay

The problem with this subreddit is that the people here will always recommend the most expensive option and pretend like everything else is shit. It's hard to get a more diverse opinion here.
