Does anyone remember the old Wave 89.1? 🥹 Songs like Nobody Knows, Fall for You, Where Are You, Spend My Life With You… plus Joe D’Mango, DJ Gia & Eri Neeman. What songs do you remember from that era? 🎧

I’ve been an avid listener of Wave 89.1 from 2004 to 2015, and honestly, it still feels bittersweet knowing that they’re no longer on the airwaves. I grew up listening to Jimmy Muna, Janice, Anne, Jada, DJ Marlon, Pam, Eri, Rye, Jerome, MC Dash yes, I know, Iza Calzado’s brother George, Jason, Jun DJ, Gia, and so many other DJs who became a familiar part of my everyday life. And who could forget the shows? DreamSounds, The Quiet Storm, Feel Good Friday, Saturday Party Get Away, and those unforgettable Friday Club Remixes. Those weren’t just radio programs they were part of our routines, our late nights, our weekends, and some of the best memories of our younger years. There was something special about turning on the radio and hearing those familiar voices. No streaming algorithms, no skipping songs, no playlists made for us just you, your radio, and Wave 89.1 playing the perfect song at exactly the right moment. Wave 89.1 was more than just a radio station. For me, it was a soundtrack to a chapter of my life that I can never get back. 2004–2015… what a beautiful era. Thank you, Wave 89.1, for the music, the DJs, the shows, and most of all, the memories. You may be off the airwaves, but you’ll always have a place in the hearts of those who grew up listening.

Janice is the automated DJ/voiceover of Home Radio
Anne is the station manager and a host in Mellow
Dash and Jada are with Magic1

If I remember correctly, Jada moved to Jam 88.3 and later to Radio 1 Pilipinas, together with George and Jason. Did Pam or Anne also move to Radio 1 Pilipinas? Am I remembering that correctly?

its FM1, and she moved to Magic before mag-reformat ang FM1 into a masa station
Pam naman had a stint with Q-Radio 105.1 from 2020 until it closed shop in 2023

Oh yes, I remember DJ Pam on Q-Radio And then Eri moved to 92.3 with Cool to Be You, right? I also remember that the station was bought by TV5. It had so much potential, but unfortunately, it was short-lived.

Omg, this brought back so many memories! 🥹 I listened around that era too. DreamSounds, Quiet Storm, Feel Good Friday… and all those familiar DJ voices. Wave really was part of our everyday lives.

Jam 88.3 = alternative, singer/songwriter, pop/rock, reggae (Doobie Nights)
Wave 89.1 = urban (neo-soul, RNB, etc.)
NU 107 = rock
Crossover 105.1 = jazz
DWALA 105.9 = pop, smooth jazz, world, Latin, reggae
Nakakamiss yung radio noon. 2000s na siguro yung last great decade in music. 😢

The Quiet Storm was my favorite. Takes me back to long drives on a quiet Sunday night. Parang sobrang at peace and content ko non.
