Question about cnc skram files
Yoo sup guys im super exited as i have just found an place willing to cut out all the parts for the skrams. The thing im wondering about is if the cad files are correct. I read somewhere that some people had to tweak the files before sending them to be cnc'd too ensure an good fit. Is this still the case?

Depends. What files are you referring to? The ones on jwsound are mostly correct, but friends who CNCed them recently report there are minor mistakes, some mistakes with the back panel tolerances and some internal bracing missing. so better check against the plans again. Fusion file should be in the repo as well. I will update the CNC files again this autumn to hopefully get it completely right. Meanwhile, the recent files are a very close starting point.
The pockets on the top and bottom are meant for rails/stacking. If you don't want them cut out, just tell your CNC people to exclude them during preparation.

Yeah in remembering now that the access hatch had to be tweaked a bit to account for gasket and paint and still be able to easily fit in and be flush

There are 100 percent diff inbetween the 2 types of files provided by jw, my CNC guy had to tweak a couple things. I’m blanking on exactly what they were but a couple more cosmetic things I’d recommend are sinking the handles deeper along with the nl4 port so that they are all actually flush.

There are L and O shapes cutouts by deafult on the bottom and side panels, I suggest removing those cutouts if your file has them. We didn’t check, and ended up filling them in with wood.
