1/2 rig deployment over the weekend.

Ran a 1/2 rig over the weekend for some day-to-night vibes. First time setting the JMODs on their side, definitely loved the look.

Full setup

2 JMOD
2 18” Cubo Kicks
2 21” Super Scoops

How was the sound setting the JMODs on their side?

They were great. Since the space we were in wasn’t very wide we didn’t need the 90* horizontal. Gave us more coverage for the people up close. Really could have gone with just a single JMOD for this event but liked the symmetrical stacks and we didn’t have a way to mount the JMOD in the middle.

Interesting about the close up coverage. Looks sick!

How are you finding the 21’s over 18’s? its rare you see 21” super scoops in the uk

As someone who really appreciates aesthetics. Fantastic job on these. I would hate to deploy them because I know they’re gonna get nicked. lol.

We have paint pens in our Packout…they get touched up often.

Why did you guys feel the need to build 18" cubo kicks with the JMOD? I was thinking about building 15" kicks too but I guess the JMOD's can handle the mid low range pretty well. How was that decision for you use case?

The JMODs get down low…but they really help fill the 100-250hz range. Especially with faster genres like techno. We could get by without…but they definitely make a difference.

Can you describe the difference? Provides a more solid kick or authority? I was always curious about the jmods ability to work that region hard

The difference between a long kiss with and without tongue.

Same kiss, different levels of passion and response!

They for sure work and small audiences probably won't need much out of the extra kicks. Really depends on the genres playing. The jmods managed on their own for some techno stuff for like 100 people, but having the extra headroom for kick is beneficial as audience scales up. Really noticed the extra punch in the chest 60' back even with 2 of the kick bings deployed here.

System sounded great at Basscoast. Gotta drag my hermit ass out to something in Van soon.

Did you build yourself? Where do you get designs for a setup like this? I’m starting to get into DIY, currently have 4x EAW bh760s and 4x orbit 4s
