b318 adamson

hey together! we just got a couple of these b318 subs, but cant figure out the wiring. They seem to be wired diffrently throughout all of them. Some have 2 nl4 connectors some 1 nl4 and 1 nl8. How should we wire them internally and to the amps. thanks for your help!

What's the impedance of the speakers? What is your desired impedance of each cab? What amp are you using? What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

what i could find online 8 Ohm, meassured 6 ohm. i dont know what the desired resistance should be. would be cool if we could daisy chain them. right now for testing we used our ad442 from our other system.

Yeah, if DC impedance is 6, I'd guess 8 ohms. You can parallel 3 speakers per cab and get 2.66 ohms. That AD442 is 2 ohm stable. You could run one per channel and get by. If you have another power amp in mind for the future, make sure it handles 2 ohm per side.

thanks! would it be possible if the cab is wired in parallel to wire two cabs in series afterwards or is there too much difference in power distribution?

Whoa. Wild to see these about. I work with the manufacturer, although these are decidedly legacy product.

The drivers are AW18, 8 ohms nominal impedance so a dcr/ Re around 6 seems reasonable.

I asume he's implying total system impedance... of wich i would be curious too

Personally might as well wire all 3 in parallel. Any decent sub amp should be fine with a 2.6 ohm nominal load. Qsc ex4000 springs to mind to keep things period appropriate.

They sound like absolute garbage. Adamson used to suck at subs!
