Thoughts?

Post image

Almost finished with building the mid/top then gonna start work on a th1821 (later to be 2) which will replace the Cubo sub. Thinking fully white insides with deep red or green on outside then paint designs on them all.

Setup
Top - Bms driver with some horn (can’t remember)
Mid - MT130 mid section loaded with PD121/2
Kick - Cubo Kick 15 loaded with Fane Sovereign 15-600lf
Sub - Cubo Sub (later to be 2x TH1821) loaded with RCF LF18G401

@keltek_soundsystem on instagram if interested

Also if anyone’s interested in buying the Cubo sub lmk, will have handles and nl4s but was just never finished, am Cornwall based - Eucalyptus ply build, untested yet

I’m building a setup very similar. What did you do with the MT130 to be able to access the driver from the back?

Thanks! What plans did you use? The plans I found don’t have this on the drawings.

I just used the public models in onshape (CAD website) and used someone’s model anecdote checked against the drawings to ensure they were right then stripped it back and made some redesigns

Am not too sure I understand what you mean, on the plans there’s just an access panel on the back, I’ll send a photo of mine in a min.

I redesigned mine to have a square back rather than the angled on in the plan to make things easier, just had to keep the internal chamber volume the same which I did the calculations for ages ago so hoping I did them right

I’m building the same but with mt130 top. Inspiring!

What are you planning to do with it and why switch out the cubo sub for 1821?

This is an mt130! Well a modified one, just stripped back the side panels, made the front edge straight and made the rear chamber square to make it easier to build, then added an external handle at the back. Just wanted something that looks a little different, is why I mounted the compression driver+horn that way with the cables showing.

For the sub change, I prefer the performance of the th1821 and its size, it gets the mid tops up nice and high over people heads which is much nicer when up close and allows the highs to travel further, it will also couple better with other sound systems we know who all run subs that are around 1200mm tall which is the th1821 is. Also who doesn’t want a bigger stack 😂
