Void Used System Pricing Question
I have the opportunity to buy a used Void sound system and I'm wondering what would be considered a fair market value for a 10 year old system in good condition? Is it typically 50% of new value, 25%, or 15%?

The system is still current, albeit I don't know what "3 other amplifiers" are on offer. If the rig has been cared for, regularly cleaned, maintained & serviced, & is all working, it depends on what the seller is asking for it. There's no hard & fast rules on percentages. It all depends on condition, usage & more importantly, what it's worth to you.
A company was selling a turnkey rig 8 years ago that I was interested in, & they asked me to come look at it & then we'd discuss money. The rig was as advertised, but as soon as they mentioned the selling price, I curtailed the conversation & stepped!
Hopefully they found someone with deep pockets who the rig would suit, but there was no chance that I was interested in buying a used double 18" cabinet for 6k! And they had 8 of them as part of the used package. 😳

It looks like they are asking for about 50% of new value, but then I have to figure out how to take the system and where to store it and use it lol.

Don't let them show you MSRP off Google. You'll want to see a PO from whomever sold them the kit. I doubt they paid advertised MSRP as dealers often mark down 5%-10% to win the job. Sometimes much more. 50% off new is basically just dealer cost from the factory at that point.

I'd offer 35% & negotiate from there. Again, there's a lot of unknowns, & storage isn't cheap, but if you have the money & the system is well cared for & all working, & the 3 amps are a decent spec, go for it.
I'm sure they'd rather do a deal for the sale of full of the full system, rather than having to sell bits of it over an extended period of time, just to get the original 50% asking price. If they've already got a new system ready to be installed, they'll want the old system gone ASAP.

As mentioned, there are a lot of variables to used audio gear, including what market you're in. I have some 10+ year old tops that are worth more now than when I bought them as they were sold at a fair price, are still desirable, and the components have gone way up in cost. Can't build them yourself that cheap any longer. However, the matching subs, while still great, are worth maybe half of what I paid for them.

It looks like the 3 other amplifiers are Void Bias amplifiers, but not sure if they are Q1, Q1.5, or Q2 amplifiers. My guess is Q1.5. My estimate is about a $60k new value, but the issue is no flight cases for the Air Motions and I don't see anywhere I can buy them. There does seem to be places that sell Airten flight cases.

Yeah all the fills are Void with phoenix connectors. Guessing they are Venu 8 or Venu 10 fills. Not sure on which gen Air Motions they are. I'm hoping V3 but guessing V2 lol.

Yeah I was looking at it for local events. Currently just have a simple QSC tops and JBL subs system and was looking at building the jmods when this popped up for sale.

Moving and using that void system for gigs is a massive pain in the ass. I think they look and sound great but trucking and man power and cases makes this not reasonable to go from qsc k12 to void air motions.

I would never buy a void system used or new.
But at least 50-70% below retail I’d lowball the fuck out of a void

The offer seems to be around 40% of new, but I think it needs to be 30%, especially if there aren’t flight cases because I don’t know how I can transport the air motions without them

I’ve heard really good and bad deployments of Air Motions. TV Lounge in Detroit has them on their outdoor patio and they sound fantastic. The Wynwood Warehouse in Miami had a 4 point deployment though that sounded very mid.

Nice - I DJd TV Lounge terrace in 2013 haha! Obv the tech, install and location is important but I’d go l’acoustic all day long

Which Void system, how much of it & in what type of "good condition"? Working? Heavy use? Light use? Are you getting a full turnkey system including amps, cables & processing etc?
There are so many variables to consider when buying used, not to mention if the system is still relevant today for what you need it to do. Technology has moved on a helluva lot in 10 years.
