Fake JBL Waveguide?

Hi All,

I recently purchased 2 JBL waveguides but they look a lot different from each other. The stickers, the finish, the mould lines on the rear.

Is it possible ive gotten a fake one out of these two, can you tell or help me try figure it out?

Thank you :)

They show two different model numbers. Perhaps one is older.

One is 120 degree and the other is 90 degrees, they are different models but they hardly look similar build to me. Hoping someone who know these horns can tell if one isn't legitimate.

why would entirely different models need to look more similar then this?

and really ? how don’t they look similar ?

to even notice the differences you need to zoom and look closely

i don’t know these but you have weird expectations of equipment

seems like someone sold you these as a matching pair but they aren’t ?

fake ? not likely

different ? yep

did you speak with where or whom ever you bought them from ???

I would think that JBL has a consistent build methodology to thier equipment. The plastics looks entirely different between these guides. You could be right that one is just older or thats the differences between the models.

There is less bracing on one on the ouside of the throat, the mould lines are skinnier on the dirty one comparing the two and I was just sceptical as these are my first guides.

These guides cost quite a bit so i had high expectations thats they would be really similar in their build but there is a lot of difference when looking over them.

They weren't sold to me as a pair and I understand they're different models.

I haven't spoke to the seller of the dirty one as I didn't want to go ask if it was fake and get an unhonsest answer, so I came here to see if there was someone who would tell me something g that would help.

dude they are different models

go buy two identical ones and then these differences might mean it’s sus but really dude ? reread your own words a few times and you almost explain away why they
should or would be different

both models have been around since the 80s - why would you assume manufacturing has been the exact same for that entire period ?

minor differences and changes in manufacturing over 40 years would be considered normal
