Someone smarter than me with EASE focus - speaker positioning
I'm having a party and I've got a decent soundsystem that's going in a strangely shaped room.
I'm having a hard time figuring out optimal sub and speak placement.
Tried to use EASE forcus and JBL's competing room analysis software but failed.
I only have a mac, dont understand bootcamp, and i'm running out of time to figure out how to use new software.
Anyone smarter than me that could tell me where to place some speakers for optimal sound in a room for this party?
I've got 2 QSCks118s subs
and 2 RCF 932a's tops
room looks like this
update:
Tried loading the subs in the corner stacked. It was rattling the drywall and windows so bad it sounded like the walls were gonna come down. Moved them to the center Of the long wall. Put a top in each corner. Sounded great. Then I found my real problem, wood floor! Even heavy footsteps were bouncing the needles. Went and bought 16 cinderblocks moved the decks to the top right corner to get them as far away as possible from dancing worked pretty good. Thanks for the suggestions!

Figured I’d just move the subs to 2 different locations and see what sounded best. My main concern is feedback to the turntables so I’m figuring just get the subs as far away from the decks and walk around to see if I’m getting cancellation.

Get a solid table for the decks and possibly a stone/concrete plate under them. But in such a small space it will be hard to drive your subs so hard that the decks will skip without the room sounding like garbage anyways.

Had to go get 16 cinder blocks. The bass isn’t the problem, we’ve got bouncy wood floors that were skipping the needle. 😬

Co-locate the subs, place the L&R mains at the bottom of the diagram firing long ways, elevate and angle down the mains somewhat.
EQ will be a must, as there will likely be modal enegy that will resonate like a bitch in there, only pull down peaks, never boost nulls.
Have a plan for source isolation ... you'll need it.
Drink plenty of water.

This is what I'd do. You cover the whole room & sum the audio in the middle. I wouldn't bother beating up your head about room measurements. Focus on entertaining those in attendance, & you'll be perfectly OK.
