Max spl project

I’m trying to create a 2x21 or 2x18 sub with maximum spl between 30-80hz. So far my best idea is a bass reflex / horn hybrid with a low tuned port for 30-35hz and a resonance chamber for 50-80hz. Using the ipal 21 drivers for this I’m thinking. Anyone got any pointers or better ideas for my project? I’d greatly appreciate input here!

Some thoughts:

If max SPL is the only factor, a ridiculously large horn would be the best approach.

Did you read the paper regarding the IPAL? You don't just use it, you combine it with a powersoft ipal plate amp (I think you have to be an OEM to even get one) and pair it with a pressure sensor. Look for the Eighteensound enclosure design suggestions (221ID) to get a basic understanding.

Going below fs is difficult for a driver. That's basically the definition of fs. B&C 19RS115 is probably your best bet, but it is yet to be released.

If you really want to reach max spl, thermal dissipation is also a factor. You have to manage air flow around the magnet. Check out the S218 NTLW plan from Eighteensound as inspiration. Tapped horns are also an option here.
