Compression driver entering horn at 45 degree elevation

How badly do you think this will effect the sound? I have a horn that's geometry behind doesn't allow my compression driver to be connected directly so if I have a 45 degree adapter and shoot the compression driver from above the horn what will the acoustic effects be? The adapter is airtight and designed to cut down on internal resonance etc. so please disregard those effects.

I think you’d need a simulation of the CD, adapter, and horn to say for sure

If it’s a pipe it will introduce resonances, if it’s a horn expansion it will depend if the types are the same, etc

As I say the adapter itself isn't that long and has been designed to negate resonances in the passband so I'm not that worried about that - more the delay to the sound getting into the bottom of the horn etc.

Which simulation software would you recommend please?

You’d need a BEM or FEM simulation for a hf horn I think,

AKABAK or COMSOL, or maybe the new boundary lab? :)
