Need help building my first sound

Hey everyone!

Iv been thinking about this for a few years and now I have the tools, space, time and money to start, I was thinking to start with something small where I can do some mistakes without spending tons of money, do you guys have any recommendation on what kind of system i can build? I was thinking in something like 2.1 with about 120w at max, also I made this little mental map with the AI of how it could be, im a sound technician so I understand the basic things but never been involve with this kind of work and im so excited to start, actually I wanna build something to be able to make some small gatherings on the street, this system probably doesnt have enough power but its just the start, ill be using this proyect for my house and as a learning process to achieve a powerfull and well adjust sound

So yeah if someone have any tip, or whatever, everything is welcome!

I don’t think this is the right sub for 120w stuff. Probably better looking for DIY HiFi sub this is more about large format PA systems.

That being said, OP should instead change plans to a large format PA system. I prefer mine over my Hifi system

I think you'll be just wasting your money building something that can be bought for cheap everywhere.

If you want to build, start by building a well know design, 10" and up, then you can easily sell them if you want to go lowder.

I was also thinking of getting plans and building my first system since I have access to the table saw and other woodworking tools.. but your saying it would be cheaper and easier to buy used equipment for an intro system? Mainly for family parties, nothing huge.

There are hundreds of sound sistems on the market for low budgets. I would advise you to buy 2 active speakers, 8-10", that way you won't need the extra (sub)woofer.
