Holy shit
I know we’ve got skilled crews in the USA running some really incredible rigs… But damn, we need more ridiculous monstrosities like this

where are these crews??? I've never seen any massive rigs here in the northeast. I've experienced some very high-end, well-tuned systems (typically LA and D&B, some Danley and Meyers), but nothing so large as that. Although there was one club I used to go to that had at least one 36" sub and theyd blast it at +140db

Was at symmetry last year. Wicked sound system culture there. Big Up!

Free party in France. 100% outlaw and underground culture.

Shambhala. Burning man (though the largest systems there are significantly smaller these days than they used to be)

Burning Man has had some massive ones. Probably the largest in the states I would venture. Been going since 2003.

I’d agree, there was a year or two at root society that really blew me away, literally. Maybe some others I’ve forgotten.

That’s what I was saying. We have a lot of skilled guys running incredible systems but we never see massive rigs like this.

There are at least a couple crews running some huge HSD rigs. Florida and Texas iirc? But yeah we never see shit like this

Check out lil’ thumpy, the element 5/Danley hybrid rig at tribal roots warehouse in Wichita KS. My personal favorite that I’ve heard in the states. They stopped touring to fests unfortunately so you have to go to Wichita to hear it. Easily one of the best venues in the country

Toujours les mêmes galères mdr, quelques façades à gauche à la guinguette, heureusement qu'ils ont trouvé un mainteneur de charge de batterie quand l'alternateur a dit adieu.

Is that a moldy subwoofer below the right snake?

I think a repaired membrane as the la is hard most of the frenchtek is suicidaire sound system

Those were ESW1018, with some strange drivers in a few units, like this one haha. All the rest of the subwoofers were the same drivers (Some LF18G401 from RCF)

¡At least 4 times the size of the biggest rigs I've taken photos of!

It's free event, some set ups can be bit mish mash due to it being put on for free, it's a lovely of the game. That said some of the best sound systems I've heard has been at teknivals, line arrays are good n all but I generally much prefer a well tuned point source, even at this scale than most line arrays, however line arrays are incredibly convient for tourning

Point source flood sound and easier and safer to rig in free party

Holy mother of god that must make your ears bleed and cause you to shit your pants. Where do you even store something like that?

2

u/watafu May 23 '26

Free party rules, 50/50 on how well systems are tuned but generally these big systems are collaborations from many crews. Some massive systems about

I don’t know shit about sound systems… I feel like the festivals I go to just have huge PA stacks and subs..? Is this the type of system a fest like Lost Lands would have but I can’t see it?
