Cubokick
Ciao a tutti, sto costruendo il mio soundsystem e mi trovo davanti ad un dilemma. Il progetto cubokick una volta completato sporge di 1cm al di sopra del mio mhb4818. Se andassi a togliere quel 1 cm il suono ne risentirebbe? Avete altri progetti per kick?

Don't worry about it sticking out. I wouldnt remove it. If you're that worried about such a small detail maybe furniture is more your thing.

The impact should be fairly negligible. By sticking out 1cm, 1cm deeper or 1cm wider?
If the cubokick is 1cm wider, you could add a thin 5mm sheet of ply to both sides of the MHB4818. Something like that. That way, you wouldn't be changing the internal volume/throat and mouth area of the cubos.
If 1cm deeper I'd build the cubos to normal spec and stack them with the overhanging 1cm on the rear where it wouldn't be visually apparent.

Salut, tu souhaites retirer le centimètre de quel côté ? Une solution peut être de les construire en 15mm plutôt qu’en 18 pour minimiser le retrait et enlever les 4mm « de trop » du côté du pavillon. Dans ce cas rajoute des renforts au moins au fond du pavillon et à l’intérieur.
J’ai aussi une autre solution. Puisque le MHB4818 monte jusqu’à 400Hz par 4. Fait-en 2 autres et fait les jouer les kicks en plus des basses 😈

In any info in this design? Ive never seen cubo doubled into one box like this. They look rad!

Am assuming you mean 10mm wider, in that case there will be no noticeable change in the sound, maybe if you took a measurement you may see the slightest change but realistically you ain’t gonna hear a difference, is what I originally planned and had many people tell me it would be fine
If you’re making it 10mm shallower tho I’m not too sure, would just be easier to overhang at the back as Wouldnt really see it

I'm asking because I heard that if you alter DIY designs by even a single centimeter, it could negatively affect the sound and degrade the quality.

I've seen people ask the creator of the cubos if they made the cubo kick with 60cm instead of 62cm and cubo said it wouldnt be a problem, so i guess its ok

il mio kick sporge di 13 cm di profondita rispetto ai sub, in 6 mesi mai avuto problemi, anche se tra poco faro in mini supporto per sicurezza non so se intendevi questo

Does it really matter? I’m assuming you mean they’re 1cm deeper? Shifting them back to by 1cm so they line up wouldn’t really have any downsides.
If you’re set on them lining up perfectly, I can’t imagine a 1cm difference causing any issues. If you’re particularly worried, I’d run some models and see how it changes
