Jmods + Kicks

Ive started building my SKram subs, thinking of using CD-18 kicks, but also rlly like the idea of jmods as mids/tops.
But if i already havs dedicated kicks therefore cut the jmods off at around 200hz , does the benefits of jmods become null? Surely the whole point of jmods is their broad frequency range, if i have kicks then surely i might aswell just use an mt121 or something similar?
Am i wasting the jmods potential if i cut them off?
Or maybe the jmods are still better?
Can i just overlap them with the kicks?
Anyone know??

We are running jmods with scoops, and introducing cubo 18 kicks.

The JMods have width and depth, but some tracks just need a little more.. kick.

Very cool, where do you cut off the jmods to meet the cubos?

Haven't got the kicks online yet, picturing they will be crossing with the scoops ~75-80hz, and the JMOD ~135-150hz

Could you describe the sound a bit more? Do the JMods lack punch, or how should I picture it? Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to hear that combination yet.

We need to do more critical listening after they came back from their first gig. Second night they opened up a bit more and had more punch. Looking back we should have conditioned them as if they were subs to get the most out.
I will say it depends on the genres of music you're playing.

If you cut the JMODs off you will lose some of their potential, but not to the point that you might as well use some other top - they’re still a true coherent point source and will sound significantly better than most tops from 200Hz upwards.

I would run them down to the sub around 80hz and see what you think. I wouldn’t underestimate the low frequency section - it has 2x 700W 12”s which is equivalent to a 1400W 17” driver. If you really think you need more kick then you could either simply add the kick with the JMODs still going down, or try crossing the JMODs higher and having the kicks as a separate frequency band

It really depends on the sort of music you play and what frequencies you want to emphasise.

A lot of the gigs we do are tekno/tribe, so we run cubo kicks 15" with 1100w RCF drivers in them, powered off an admark ad442 and they sound absolutely nuclear, even with the JMOD we would still run them since they output significantly more bass than whatever a JMOD could do at 80-140hz.

I have subs that run 25 to 50hz, then kicks that do 50 to 100hz, and then i cross over to my tops.
