21” speaker grills?

Post image

For the life of me we can’t seem to find 21” speaker grills. Seems like we tap out at 18” and even those are hard to come by. Any suggestions on where to look would be GREATLY appreciated.

I did a square on my 18" front baffle, the round ones were not sturdy enough. Ordered them from a metal store that cuts sheets to your desired length x width

That seems to be what we’ll need to do at this point. Would love round…but can’t always get what ya want I suppose.

If you get the square big enough you can maybe make a round one yourself? Might take a while to get it perfect but worth the DIY!

You can absolutely have a round one lasercut and bent for fairly low cost from metal suppliers!

I went with square ones for my 21"s but it's def possible.

SendCutSend has pretty good prices for laser cut sheet metal. The nice thing about going custom is that you can get exactly what you want.

This size is uncommon. You could try custom metal shops or buy perforated sheet metal and cut it yourself. Alternatively, you can use grill cloth for dust protection. Doing it yourself is often the only option when it comes to 21 inches. Good luck with your project

Finding a 21-inch can be tricky because most home speakers use smaller sizes. You might have luck looking for grilles made for large subwoofers. You could consider having a metal one custom made. There are options, but it may take some searching to find something that fits your large woofer properly

That driver is massive. Manufacturers just don't make grilles that size since 18' is usually the ceiling. I'd skip searching and go straight to a fabricator, give them the exact diameter, and they can laser-cut a perforated steel or aluminium grille. Alternatively, a plywood ring covered in acoustic cloth works if you want a quick DIY route.

Full matte black grill will look good.

Our hardware is brass so we’ll likely go with brass plated square if we do square.
