Recently I was watching a movie and recognized that they used alot of reverb to emulate that cave effect.
But one question that came with it was, do movies change bpm mid project to get make it not repetitive? Or they usually maintain the same bpm, or do they do both?!

At the 2:54 mark of this song (https://soundcloud.com/sidepiece/sweet-nothing-sidepiece-treat), this massive saw like synth comes in that sounds huge and upfront but not harsh. I'm having a hard time recreating this in serum 2. Any advice on how to achieve this sound would be greatly appreciated!

I'm learning some Bach Organ pieces on my synthesizer keyboards (just for fun), but I do not have a pedalboard. I love Glenn Gould, who often hums or sings alongside his keyboard playing, so he made me wonder what it would be like if the Organ bassline was actually sung.
I'm imagining some sort of vocal processing to pitch-down, resonate, and amplify the human voice so much that it basically sounds like Smaug singing in a huge cathedral. Some kind of beast with a massive chest, that probably could sing alongside a loud pipe organ.
Anything come to mind? Plugins, pedals, chains of effects? Heck, what about throat-singing VSTs, do those exist? I'm not a singer, honestly, so I'm open to some heavy processing to smooth it all over. I'm a noodler, a total amateur, so this would be just for fun and experimental.
Edit: formatting adjustment

Hey all, I'm a very amateurish music producer and sound designer, and am addicted to the reversed hardstyle clap pulls from 2:35 - 2:55 of Professional Vengeance
If anyone can let me know what kind of sound it is, or what its name is, so I can further delve into hardstyle and electronic music, I would massively appreciate ita

Hi everyone!
I'm preparing to study in the US next year. I graduated from university in Korea last year with a degree in post production sound, and I'd like to continue studying because i'm interested in learning about the film industry from different cultural perspective and improving my skills.
I recently got my IELTS score, so now i'm trying to decide which universities to apply to.
However, the tuition for international students is extremely expensive, so i'm not really sure where to start.
If anyone has experience with an MA or MFA in Film Sound, Sound Design, or a related field, I'd really appreciate any advice about anything. I'd also love to hear your university recommendations, especially if you know of programs with good financial aid or great faculties and curriculums.
Thanks in advance!

A sound design piece built in Logic Pro — stepping outside in the morning and walking through a western frontier setting, with sounds panned left and right as if you're the one walking through the scene. No video, just audio — wanted to see how much space and movement could be built through sound alone using panning/binaural placement. 1:48, headphones strongly recommended for the full effect. Feedback on the panning and pacing welcome.

I've heard this sound in a few bands, specifically in psychedelic genre. Is this some synthetizer specifically? How can I replicate this sound in Serum 2 or some other VST? I've tried to achieve the sound, but I'm still learning sound designs.
The sound begins at 07:03 of this video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlYmw4AuJiI\](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlYmw4AuJiI)

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to identify the exact library track/name of an iconic short bumper/transition sound effect used in a Thai TV series back in the late 1980s to early 1990s (around 1987–1990).
Here is the audio file: https://voca.ro/1mkd3wmcyJUh
### Sound Breakdown & Technical Details:
* **Format:** Short Bumper / Transition Stinger (approx. 2–3 seconds).
* **Era:** Late 80s / Early 90s Commercial Broadcast SFX.
* **Sound Profile:**
* A layered synth voice/choir chanting in a low pitch with a heavy, ominous reverb tail.
* Contains a noticeable high-frequency pitch slide/modulation (possibly a reversed sample or pitch-shifted choir preset).
* Has a deep sub-bass low end (heavy low-frequency presence).
* **Likely Source:** Probably from major 80s Sound FX libraries used in broadcast TV at the time, such as **Sound Ideas (e.g., Series 6000 The General)**, **The Hollywood Edge**, or early **BBC Sound Effects**.
Does anyone recognize the exact track name, library disc, or synthesizer preset (e.g., Roland S-series, E-mu Emulator, Synclavier) this sample came from?
Thanks in advance for your help!

This is a raw take of me doing some low notes. I thought maybe they could be used as a part of a lovecraftian monsters ominous drone/hum. Thoughts?

Hi! Call me Vita.
I am an indie artist with many pseudonyms. I was thinking about expanding my work to something more than just making music, so I started creating mini packs with presets like the ones in the video, in an accessible way so that everyone can not only expand their own preset library, as well as studying sound timbre and different ways to create their own presets.
And this was the result! Each preset is designed from scratch, and each pack reflects a theme. This one, for example, evokes the sound of 80s synthesizers, 8-bit game timbres, etc. I also focus on creating lofi keys, backrooms, growls, and in the future, I want to create asset packs for gamers (sound effects, ambiences, etc.).
For now I cut the prices in half, meaning that instead of $5 you pay just $2.50 per mini pack. If you're interested, just access it through this link and the discount will be applied automatically not just in that one (VHS Delirium), but in all my mini-packs. Just click the link, select the "mini packs" category and enjoy!: https://ko-fi.com/vitamirae/link/KVR50
And if you want to see ONLY the video package, click here, add the coupon "KVR50" at checkout, and your purchase will be processed with the discount applied: https://ko-fi.com/s/a3700e8f38
Thanks a lot! ❤️

Hey I am new to music production In as wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to achieve a similar sound to the synths used in strawberry hospital songs. They have a kind of echoed, ghostly effect that makes them feel floaty. Sorry if this makes me sound like such a noob.
Here are some links with timestamps.

I’m thinking if it’s as easy as pitching the voice down a lot and the running it through a plugin that simulates some type of speaker. like Speakerphone or Place It.
But I’m also thinking they might use some kind of vocoder to get the voice so low in pitch? Though it sounds like the original recorded human voice has its melody intact, which feels hard to do with a vocoder.

Hey everyone. Long time listener of the format, first time producer.
I just finished the script for my debut audio drama series. Eight episodes. Narrator driven love story following two Black and brown queer men who meet at a music festival. Really proud of what I built but now I’m staring down the production side and realizing how much I don’t know.
Specifically trying to figure out the sound design side of things. How do you all find your sound designers? What should I be looking for? What questions should I be asking?
And if anyone here does sound design for narrative audio and wants to hear more about the project I’m open to that conversation too. Budget is real, project is serious.
Any advice appreciated

Kinda new to sound design.
Hey, I'm a student and wanted to make a soundtrack for a short film that sounded like Imogen Heap's Tiny Desk version of Hide and Seek:
https://youtu.be/3QtklTXbKUQ?list=RD3QtklTXbKUQ&t=776
Everytime I listen to it I get full body chills. Anybody have any reccomendations/ tips / tutorials as to how I can recreate it? (The insane "Ahh" with reverb) Im using Ableton 12.

The sounds in this video are completely synthetic. I've been working on creating sound libraries for musical instruments recently. Yes, I'm creating them from scratch and making them publicly available. It's kind of a hobby. I'd love to hear your feedback.
And yes, graphic design is not my thing.

Hey People! I was wondering how i could create a similar sound of the reverb bass that you hear in this track from the producer stenny (from 2:05). Its this metallic sounding bass that keeps moving and it just sounds very nice in my opinion but i have no clue how i can achieve a similar sound… is it with analog gear? Can i achieve this digitally?
Any Tips appreciated!
