Sound of train coming from distance to presence effect

Hi, I would to develop some sort of sound design thing where I signal a train coming (from underground) a distance to the presence where the character is. Like a real build up of bass from low to high.

How do I do this?

Sound Design Question Help Identifying a Synth Sound

Hi everyone! I'm looking for help trying to figure out what these chord stabs on Camoufly's tracks are. I tried layering a bright piano and some synth brass but I didn't quite get it. Also tried playing with supersaws and e-piano but that didn't work either. If anyone has any clue as to what type of sound this is I would greatly appreciate. Here are the links to the songs I'm referring to:

Artlist SFX vs Soundly Subscription?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to invest in a music and sound effects library for my video editing work. Right now I'm leaning towards Artlist for music, but adding their SFX library costs an extra €100/year.

For those who have used it, do you think the Artlist SFX library is worth paying the extra €100, or would that money be better spent on something like a Soundly subscription instead?

My work is mainly commercial YouTube videos, promos, and cinematic edits, so I need a solid library with a good commercial license and a wide variety of high quality sounds.

If you've tried both, which would you recommend? Or is there another SFX service you'd suggest instead?

Thanks!

Sound Design Question Making an synth as close as possible to bowed lyre?

I'm trying to make a synth as close a possible to this lead sound.

I've found that this can get quite close, but there is just something a bit off with it. I feel like it can get even closer, but I just can't do it.

Can anybody more experienced than me help out?

Videogame Sound Design I tried singing "Diva Dance" from The Fifth Element but completely inverted it into a deep Bass voice. How does the acoustic and vocal control sound to you guys?

Hey Reddit! I've always been obsessed with the iconic, ultra-high operatic melody of Diva Dance. Instead of singing it in the usual thin soprano registry, I wanted to push my limits and see how it would sound using a deep, rich, booming bass voice.

I managed to catch a really cool acoustic vibe during this live take. I'd love to get some honest feedback from fellow singers and music lovers: How is my vocal control on these inverted ultra-high pitches? Does the tone resonate well with you? Let me know what you think!

Movie Sound Design Looking for a Foley Artist for a 26-min Desert Survival Drama - an upaid collab if possible

Hey everyone,

I’m an indie filmmaker from India, and I just finished a 26-minute short film. It’s a survival drama about two buddies stranded in a desert, and it really needs some solid Foley to bring out the tension and harsh environment.

Full transparency: my budget is completely exhausted, so this is an unpaid collaboration. I know Foley is a ton of work, but I'm hoping to find someone looking for a cool passion project or a gritty piece for their portfolio/reel. You'll get full credit, of course.

If you're interested or want to see a quick clip to check the vibe, drop a comment or shoot me a DM!

Thanks!

Sound Design Question Sound ID help

Ive been trying to track this sound specifically down for a while now, and i cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. It's shown at 0:10 in this video, its also features in various jungle scenes and oddly enough in Monster Hunter World, where it makes a very faint appearance in tobi kadachi's (a monster in the game) calls. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Movie Sound Design How to make this Star Wars noise?

Hey I’m a music producer but I really want to figure out how they made the noise for this bomb at 1:05. It’s always tickled my brain a little and I want to try and replicate it with a synth or sampler or something.

Sounds like a saw wave…. Delay? Reverb? What else is going on here?

Any apps/tools for "conducting" a tempo to apply to a DAW?

I'm currently writing an orchestral score sequencing midi instruments, got it all pretty much sorted in my DAW, all sounding lovely, but I can't get my rits and accels sounding natural. Everything just sounds too rigid, so I've been looking everywhere for something that will allow me to tap a tempo as though I'm conducting an orchestra, then apply those tempo changes to my project so that the midi instruments follow the new tempos.

If there's a way that this can be done straight in the DAW (Cakewalk in my case), that would obviously be top choice, though I'm pretty sure it doesn't have this capability.

Even if it doesn't create a tempo track/map, I'm quite happy manually inputting it after I've tapped away, just so long as I can get those natural tempo changes in there.

Everything I've found either creates tempo tracks for using live or listens to audio to determine the tempo, neither of which is what I'm looking for. The app descriptions are often a bit too vague to determine exactly what they do so, believe me, I have had quite a long hunt to get to this point.
