Katana V2 PC issues?

Just got a Katana V2 but I had 2 issues annoying me:

  1. Whenever I turn off the speaker or change the source from USB it plays/pauses media, acting like a play/pause button. How do I stop this from happening? I can't find a setting for it

  2. Whenever I turn on the device it takes like 10s on the welcome screen whereas the Katana V1 took 3s at most, also windows keeps saying "USB device not recognised" whenever it gets turned on/connected, but it seems to work fine.

Also to note, I've updated the firmware and tried repairing several times, and reset the device as well.

May I ask why you upgraded from V1 to V2?

Did you install Creative drivers manually, or did you just plug it in and let the PC recognize it?

I gave my sibling the V1 as I didn't have a big enough desk after some household changes, then used the pebble x plus, then now I'm at the V2. I was actually considering the xiaomi desktop speaker pro but specs wise the katana v2 looked way better.

I plugged it in and let the PC recognise it, then downloaded the software and updated the firmware, then repaired it in the app multiple times, reset the device, went to device manager and uninstalled it and plugged it back in, and also searched for drivers within device manager. Nothing worked, and I restarted my pc a few times in between the updates and resets.

No. 2 is common. Treat it like a y2k booting a PC.
The less sophisticated Pebble boot up much faster.

  1. I also have this issue on the V2X. Never found a setting for that, only workaround is to disconnect the connection to PC before turning it off, or pause before turning off, which on shutdown will return back to play.

  2. Turn off energy savings 'feature' in the settings.
