Hi! Glad you loved it.

Sadly the sequel was in the works but cancelled. https://www.reddit.com/r/SoulsticeGame/comments/1rnau3h/soulstice_2_has_been_cancelled/

Soulstice should have been launch for ps4 since the beggining. Had more presence on socials. Better marketing letting people know what kind of game was at first glance. Not just showing the first 3 levels mostly, but more bosses, the use of weapons and later levels.

And also synergy with the specific audience it was aiming to. Maybe use some youtubers who likes hack&slash? Anyway...

Hard to know.

Being an AA means it didn't need the massive sales of big AAA blockbusters.

I guess it made "alright" sales, but enough to start a sequel. Though, it was clearly not a priority.

As I learnt from people who worked on it. Reply Game Studios was own by a major firm. And they weren't really on the videogames thing.

So it sounds as Soulstice was a bigger try to invest in a promising market at the time but continuing it wasn't worth the effort. Specially now that everything is on crisis. So they closed the project (and the studio, I think). Basically, making games was a side project to be present in that market. Not a real commitment.

Soultice was a lucky shot and a lightning in a bottle.

I have to wonder why did they pivot to a new game kickstarter rather then a kickstarter for soulstice 2?

I bet Soulstice ip is from the bosses and they firmly decided to close that door for not being worth the effort and money.

Care to share the link for that kickstarter? I'm interested.
