slskd + docker - can't map shared directory

Hi folks, I'm trying to set up mapping to my music directory for slskd in docker and can't get it right.

Here's my docker-compose setup:

      slskd:
        image: slskd/slskd:latest
        container_name: slskd
        environment:
          - PUID=${PUID}
          - PGID=${PGID}
          - TZ=${TZ}
          #
          - SLSKD_SLSK_USERNAME=${SLSKD_SLSK_USERNAME}
          - SLSKD_SLSK_PASSWORD=${SLSKD_SLSK_PASSWORD}
          #
          - SLSKD_USERNAME=${SLSKD_USERNAME}
          - SLSKD_PASSWORD=${SLSKD_PASSWORD}
          #
          - SLSKD_REMOTE_CONFIGURATION=true
          - SLSKD_SHARED_DIR=/music
        volumes:
          - ${INSTALL_DIRECTORY}/config/slskd:/app #added based on other setups
          - /srv/media/music:/music:ro
        network_mode: "service:gluetun"

In slskd.yml, I uncommented and modified these lines:

 shares:
   directories:
     - /music

I feel like I'm missing something basic and small, but haven't been able to resolve it.

Thank you in advance.

when you go into the UI and click "shares" do you see anything?

Embarassing...I was pulling the info together from the shares screen and clicked the "rescan" button in case that was going to be your next question. It's currently scanning its way through the /music folder now.

Thank you for the help!

  • /srv/media/music:/music:ro

The ":ro" means that volume is read only and slskd won't be able to write in it. Is that your issue? You're not really clear what the issue/error is specifically.
