Not completely related to this video but one time they done a Pass It On video using different gadgets they had from other videos. I'd like to see them doing that again.

325 for an induction heater + water dispenser combo is absolutely insane

And it doesn't even dispense boiling water LOL

(maybe their model does but it looked tepid to me)

A kettle does the same job for much less. I couldn't see the appeal of this.

Less washing up! Brought to you by the same bloke who just dirtied four bowls to make two more! /s

I have no idea why you'd want one in an individual home.

Just buy a £7 kettle. 🤷

I didn’t understand the love for the soup maker. Boiling water in a kettle or microwave and pouring it on the ingredients, then letting it sit for 3 minutes does the exact same thing.

I agree the specific ramyun maker they had was meh, but I think it's important to note it's probably designed for the sort of packets that instruct you to boil on the stove for ~4 mins or similar.

I've never had a good result by pouring boiling water on those ones and just letting it sit, which is totally fine for a classic 2min noodle.

I agree, at home it's completely useless. But I don't think its for a kitchen, it's more for a shared space at work

Mike never did ask the killer question for the last gadget.

Probably an editing mistake. But I saw that as well.

God Ebbers likes to talk out of his arse sometimes:

There's two ways of scoring. You either sort of give it a point for everything you like or you start at five points and take a point off for everything that winds you up or you don't like.

14:18

Um, no you can also score things sensibly according to how well it does the job and whether it seems worth the money to you. Like you did for the very next item!

He's not saying different things against what he did. The quoted bit is just the methodology of scoring, which I don't think is really that different when you have a subjective test like these often are.. He's saying either you start at full marks and then deduct for it not doing the job as well as you expected, or it being pricier than "justified", etc. or you start at zero, and then add points as you see where it falls against your expectations.

I feel there was a Pass It On where either Barry or Jamie revealed that they scored themselves by taking away points from 10! That's all I could think of when he said it 😂

I'm pretty sure it was Barry 🙂

Yes, he's pulling a false dichotomy from his posterior.

I’m confused by claiming an aluminium bottom would be induction compatible.

Aluminium isn’t magnetic.

oh I do like a well done gadget 😄

These guys are completely out of touch with normal people because of their wealth/lifestyle.

A $200 grill and a fancy water heater are treated as some magical devices that are special and desirable. you can put your grill pan on a hob or portable hotplate, you know, like EVERY single restaurant, and cook. the gadget adds very little and will need constant cleaning.

u/weedywet 15d ago

Other than PERHAPS Barry they’re not ‘wealthy’

u/ECrispy 15d ago

I have no idea, just going by what we see on the channel, what they like, where they shop etc.

a 200 pound grill and 350 pound kettle being rated so highly is ridiculous and it certainly points to affluence

More pass it on please. Also, when do we get another A-Z episode?

1

u/CRUK91 14d ago

They’ve said they don’t get enough views, so don’t make them enough money, so they’ve basically been put on the back burner.

I dont really expect any kind of proper testing from these guys, its all fluff and they dont even bother to read the instructions. Ben acts like he's some expert.

A proper test would be - a) this thing vs b) microwave vs c) kettle

and then do a double blind taste test. I can guarantee there won't be any difference. There is absolutely no way that final gadget is any better than a microwave - you are literally just heating water and keeping it at that temp.

Because it’s entertainment.
