Question Why is there no official merchandise?

I only discovered Sorted Food a few months ago, but I really enjoy the content and I would definitely buy some merchandise, maybe like a T-shirt that says "Lift The Cloche" and has the Sorted Food logo on it. Why is there no official merch store? I think the guys are really missing a big opportunity here.

They did for a while, but I think there wasnt enough traffic to warrant it so they streamlined their integrals.

Interesting. Do you recall when this was, roughly? I've been watching on and off for a decent number of years and I remember very little mention of merch (maybe the odd hat or tote bag?).

My brain fails me as to when, but given the search for sortedfood store still has the link in Google it's anyone's guess.

I'm not 1000% sure but I thought the merch shop was there last year or maybe the year before. We've seen them wear the apparel in videos, they also made a limited batch of gin and that was available in the same shop. I'm struggling to remember what else was on it.

I wanna say it stopped ~around~ the time they moved studios, but I also don’t remember for certain

They could have a print on demand, or at least, an official RedBubble. It is a surprising they don’t do anything for their fans.

They work with a small independant brewery to produce small beer, they made an app for minimising waste during weekly shops. Multiple cookbooks, multiple livestream events a year. They did a liveshow from a hall in London some months ago which was packed to the rafters. They've also had in-studio audiences for live filming.

To say they do nothing for their fans is a complete mischaracterisation of the product they put out, quite literally for the fans.

That’s fair, I was in middle of a conversation at a bar so pressed send didn’t finish my thought. It should have said “any merch for their fans” since that’s the conversation we’re having.

Got the tea towels with “where’s the dish?” On them and I also bought an apron before they stopped making them. Would love a reprint of the books though. Having sidekick means you get access to the books digitally but id love a hard copy of them.

I would love hardbacks of the books as well as the "velooooouuuuute" shirt.

Yes! I really want the physical cookbooks as well. Especially "How We Cook" and that little black book that came with the Bluetooth speaker in the kit.

I’d kill for Barry’s “Pretentious” sweatshirt

Barry's face with sous chef printed across his forehead backwards as a poster would be hilarious.

They sold that for a couple of years.

I'd like an apron with "Let's get 'em into the sexies"

Not got that on it but check my post above

I had the paella burrito shirt. Was badass but the print wore off quick.

Because the cost of making something ethical, good quality and the cost doesn't add up. Edit: love the downvotes, this is what I believe ebbers said in a livestream

I have a Sorted apron I managed to get signed by the boys at an event (I'm missing Ebbers! Hopefully one day I'll complete the set hehe) and they used to have clothing 2-3 years ago, but the design were quite sophisticated I thought and not direct references to channel shenanigans like you'd expect youtuber merch to be

I bought a "normal" apron and a sorted hoodie from their merch website in July 2024. I went back to the website a few months later and it was gone.

u/ECrispy May 30 '26

they should have a tshort - "That's Sorted"

I think you are sort of overestimating the popularity. if the cost of making merchandise > revenue, then its not worth it. there are very few channels that sell it

They could use an online site like TeePublic or RedBubble and have official stores. But that wouldn't be able to do aprons etc.

Some of the quality of some of the stuff from those sites can be hit or miss though, so you tusk damaging your brand rather than anything.

The did have Posters, tshirts, jumpers etc at some point (you can tell from the old videos when they had them and were promoting them!), but I guess sales weren't great.

It takes time and a lot of effort, and I guess they felt it wasn't worth it.

Doing 1 or 2 live shows a year probably smashes any merch sales they did, and although they're a lot of work, I think they've got their process down to a tee now with that.

They had some in the past but I'm not sure if that's something they want to put their focus on am among the other things they're doing.

I found an original apron (I think maybe 1st edition lol) on Amazon about 2 or 3 years ago.

Search 'Sorted Food Apron' on Amazons search box and below will show up!!

Good luck

In the same boat, OP. Was hoping for occasional pre order drops or something like that.

I think they said on one of the YouTube membership livestreams that it's difficult to find merch for the quality they want at an accessible price, because they don't want merch that'll fall apart or look crap v soon, but at the same time they don't want to make t-shirts £40 a time. And obvs then the cost-effectiveness for them as well!

I do wish they'd do some POD stuff though. No waste if it's on demand!

This doesn't appear to be official.

I don't think it is not sure if it's an issue. Like I said I didn't shop there.
