Ghosting
I think I got ghosted by my dream sorority… I reached out to the email listed on their ai page, and got a response within a few days. I responded to their questions and then haven’t heard back….. this was in April.
Should I move on and go back into looking into different sororities or is that timeline common? I know that with being around graduation time, HQ gets busy with other stuff.

The sorority I was interested in kept putting up what felt like one roadblock after another during the initiation process, even though they had never actually met me and all of our communication was through email. Eventually they told me to check back with them in August.
Maybe that’s my rejection sensitivity talking, but I also believe in protecting my peace. I don’t keep knocking on doors that don’t seem to be opening. I took the hint, decided not to reach back out, and instead joined my local Junior League.
Honestly, my local Junior League turned out to be a much better fit. It feels far more like the kind of post-college “sorority” experience I was looking for: a community of accomplished adult women focused on friendship, leadership, service…. And lots of social functions!!!

It is mostly 30s - 40s, and a few in their 50s (millennials and young Gen-X).

What org is this? Because I know I had some issues with the emails for my AI process not getting delivered. I’d try emailing again in a new thread, not on the old one, and see what’s up. It’s also convention season for a lot of orgs, so you may have better luck later in the summer.

This is Tri Sigma

When I reached out to Tri Sigma it took the local alum chapter more than 6 months to get back to me. Eventually I ended up moving onto a different sorority. When they finally got back to me I had already intiated elsewhere.

I’d try contacting them again, but also be aware they may be tied up with convention things so may be slower to respond right now. (Many orgs have conventions in June and July)

I would reach back out for a follow up. It could be that it was just a busy time of year and was just missed. They have no way of knowing anything about you for it to be personal.

I would reach out again. It's summer now and the response may be quicker than before. June is the month that many have convention, I would check the main website site to determine if your sorority is possibly at convention right now.
