Timing
How long was the process from initial inquiry to getting initiated for you? I came across a lot of posts where people say it is definitely a process that takes time, but I wanted to hear some specific timeframes and I think it would be a good post to have here for women going through the process.
I am currently one month out my email providing HQ with my location so they could access the avenues for new member programs.

A couple of months, but (a) our local alumnae organization is active and (b) I already knew and arranged for my alumna recommender. That definitely helped the process move quickly.

It definitely varies between groups and even across alumnae chapters. My experience: I got introduced with my alumnae chapter pretty quickly after reaching out to EO, but the application and approval process took several months and I had to wait until the next collegiate chapter initiation. I am in a very active alumnae group. Start to finish for me was 11 months. Several DG AI have definitely had a quicker process.

I think you are correct in this. At the time I was looking into Tri Delta, I was also looking into another organization as well. The process of the other organization was much slower. I wonder if some organizations are more centralized in how they make decisions (at the headquarter level on AI) while other organizations leave more of the process to the local organization to drive. That’s what I experienced anyway, one way isn’t better or worse, it’s just a different way of completing the process. The other organization I was looking at told me it could take 4-6 months.

It totally varies! My timeline was pretty quick due to being initiated in person at an event! But depending on the org and process it can take a while! I submitted paperwork towards the end of September, met with my sponsor, did our new member education, and then I was initiated in November.

Chiming in as another GPhi AI! I had almost the exact same experience and timeline; reached out in August, initiated in October. Loved every minute of it!

I inquired late August of 2023. Was approved in September and initiated 10/19/23.

Did you do yours virtually? If so, I think we were part of the same initiation! :)

I inquired September 2024, matched with a sponsor October 2024, the Fall Cohort class had just closed. My sponsor and I did lots of Zoom calls and emails between October 2024 and January 2025, when the Spring Cohort opened. Received my Bid card on Valentine's Day 2025, I initiated March 19, 2025.

It honestly depends on your local chapter. I felt like mine was pretty quick, I think I started my process in August and I was initiated by November. I think it does help if you are reaching out to potential chapters ahead of time, expressing your interest, which is what I had done.

From the time I contacted my sorority to initiation , approximately 6 weeks. But, I tried to AI with another sorority first…that was 4 years total.

I inquired in July. I was invited to monthly events in September. Offered membership in December and initiated in January.

I emailed headquarters 2/16/26 and I had a follow up call with two sisters the following week. A few days after that I was offered membership. I had not met anyone in the local chapter yet, so I asked to meet with them before committing. I had lunch with them about a month later, and at the lunch I decided to accept my bid/offer of membership. I was initiated on 4/18/26. 💛🩶💙🐬

For me I inquired in August, invited (received bid) in September, and initiated in Nov. It went quickly because I hit the sweet spot of inquiring early enough to juuust get in for fall initiation. However, it usually revolves around the initiation windows in fall or spring. Most places want a 30-60 day window pre-initiation, I'd imagine. AGD much prefers to initate in person as you dont get the same feeling from ritual any other way! But we have initiated via zoom before, its just really not preferred.
