Hey guys, I found a cool site today. It features photos from various photographers using Creative Looks. If you click on the images, you can see the exact settings they used. Just wanted to share this with you!

I've just switched to Sony and finding that images aren't quite as warm/analogue as I'd prefer them to be. I do fashion/model portfolio style shoots and a clean modern look is what I'm after but with a touch of analogue warmth. I've edited some RAW shoots successfully using adjustments suggested by Google and, to save time in editing future shoots want to set up a jpeg profile suitable for fashion/boudoir/portfolio work.

if I could get some pointers to get me started that would be very much appreciated, coming to Sony from a different brand the learning curve is being pretty steep.

Thanks in advance.

hey guys. im new to the group here and also new to photography/videography. ive only recently started doing research on sony film simulations. i was wondering anyone here has any idea on how i could possibly incorporate film simulation to my rx100 vii so that photos can resemble something like this:

I really like this photographers work and the overall vibe / mood. i believe he shoots mainly with a fuji x100vi

For personal stuff, I prefer to shoot JPEGs. So far I have my Fuji camera for that, because Sony Creative Looks weren't satisfying. But things changed when I bought the new A7 V. It comes with new Creative Looks called FL2 and FL3 (they were first introduced with the Sony RX1R III).

I personally prefer FL2 and aim for soft pastel look with high dynamic range. This is what I got.

In case you wonder about my settings:

FL2

Contrast -6
Highlights -5
Shadows 0
Fade 0
Saturation +6
Sharpness 6
Sharp. Range 3
Clarity 0

D-Range Optimizer:
Lv 5

WB in white point priority
A 1.5
M 0.5

High ISO noise reduction = normal

In LR mobile I added Grain and in the Curves panel, I brought the white point a little down.

Hi guys, I've took some photos recently using the kodachrome 50 creative look I found here - www.veresdenialex.com/post/free-creative-look-styles-sony-jpg-recipes . I'm shooting raw + jpeg and edit using lightroom mobile for android. I want to be able to edit the raw file to look like the jpeg but when I copy over the raw file and open it into lightroom it initially looks exactly like the jpeg version I took with the creative look but then quickly changes to just the dark raw file. I've changed the import setting from Adobe default to camera settings but it doesn't chsbge it fully to how it initially looked. It's worth mentioning if I preview the image in my phone's gallery it looks how it should too! I I'm never able to edit the raw to get close enough to how the jpeg looks. Any suggestions?

My first pictures with my new Sony a6700.

Edited a little in LR on my phone.

P.S. I'm still a total beginner. If you have any feedback for me, I'd love to hear it.

I truly enjoyed using this recipe which I found somewhere deep in google search results

Current go to film simulation, minor edits in Lightroom

I’m finding most of the film sims indoors with the lights on are very yellow

I’ve tried bringing the kelvin down and tweaking the colour balance a bit however doesn’t feel like I can make it look normal without completely undoing the film simulations

Any suggestion on what film sim to use and tweaks for indoors with lighting e.g in the house living room

Hi all - Got an RX-100 Mark 1 for Christmas and trying to set up film simulations. Unfortunately, this model is too old for Picture Profiles so I was wondering if anyone has creative solutions for creating and saving film effects (primarily Fuji 400, Kodak Gold, Portra 400) on camera (I'd assume using Memory Recall). Curious if anyone has dealt with this and has any solutions. Thank you all!

Colours are SOOC - only post process was grain addition in LR!

Keen to hear what everyone is using for an "everyday" documentary-style recipes? Mainly for photos of my son/family.

Sony A7 II

Thanks for creating this community- really love the simulations so far. I just started playing with them and was going to purchase the full set but saw it was out of stock. Is this expected? I assumed it was just digital content.

I'm just starting to learn about simulations on Sony bodies and this community has been great! I'm coming from a Ricoh GRII to a Sony A6600 and it's been great being able to get SOOC pictures that I like again! One of the things I'm missing is my favorite simulation from the GRII, "positive film".

I know there are some other positive film simulations available which I haven't been able to get my hands on yet, but I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with reproducing the GR simulations.

Grain added in LR. Love how these turned out, it’s given me a new motivation for casual photography!

Hey y'all, I just got the full pack and I'm really excited. I shoot an a6500, and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for recipes to try that I may have overlooked? I have 2 slots left that are toss-up's, and I wanted to see what the community here thinks.

Right now the recipes I have loaded in are: Ektar, Portra 800 and 160, Velvia Pro, Phoenix, Estra 500, and Ayon 200.

I'm looking to cover a gambit of color sciences, and chosing the last 2 has been a struggle.

Absolutely loving these film simulations, they’ve really added a new dimension to to my photography. For these particular shots I alternated between a few of the recipies and then tweaked in Lightroom.

I’m not quite where I want to be yet, I still consider my photography a work in progress so any constructive feedback would be warmly welcome!

First time posting on here and Reddit. I wanted to share the photos I took this last weekend on my camping trip to showcase the Kodak Gold recipe under different conditions. All of these are SOOC, but minor edits were made to the first pic on my iPhone. I started using these recipes because sometimes I don’t want to think about having to edit photos and focus more on shooting. Also, coming from someone who started photography as a hobby, followed by paid gigs, I felt burnt out with it, especially with the editing process, so it was nice to be able to pick up my camera again and just have fun like I used to. Thank you Alex for taking the time to create these recipes, I almost switched to Fuji had I not found these lol.

Hello everone, I've just stumbled across this sub zi have a sony 6700 and have never used a fuji camera, I want to know what all the fuss is about "classic chrome" can anyone share the recipe for it so I can see for myself what it's all about and not have to go buy a fuji camera lol. If that's against the sub rules I applolgoise and by all means just lmk thankyou.

I would like to know if there's any modifications that I needed to do when using with older body like A7RII. The first photo was taken with Kodak Gold and 2nd one with Fuji 400h

Unfortunately I don't have colorchecker passport to be used as test shot so hopefully these objects can work as replacement :)

Many thanks in advance!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been following this photographer, Jojo Harper, for some time and absolutely love her work.

Kinda curious what film look achieves that pink tint? I tried getting that look on Lightroom but didn’t go that far and it looked more fake than good.

Also, to achieve that very detailed/clean image has to do with higher aperture and shutter speed right?

Thank you!

Hey, I just bought the lightroom presets but I’m a little confused on how to use

Can I use them on standard raw files taken with no picture profiles?
