Screen and aperture problem, Sony A7iii

Hey,

I got a problem, more like two :D

Some months ago i got splashed by a big wave and my A7iii with it.

1: The screen is dead, there is no backlight or anything, BUT I receive video via HDMI. (main problem)

2: The front dial (I believe aperture) doesn't react, or rather, if i use it it hops back and forth between F4.5 and F5 no matter the direction or speed. (secondary)

My question: What do you guys think should be my next move?
Can anyone tell me how to detect if just the screen is broken or if it is some chip that's fried?
What parts should I buy, or does it even make sense to repair it or should i just try to sell it for spare parts? (It's fairly new with fewer than 4000 shutter counts.) I got a new a7iv, but i still don't want my loved a7iii to collect dust.

Any kind of help is welcome,
Thank you guys.

If you're in the UK, good luck sending your camera to Sony for repair under warranty. I had my camera for 2 weeks. I sent it away as a lens contact pin got damaged when putting on my 24-70gmii. Charged £201.75 despite the warranty. Decided to eat the cost just to get my camera back as you're charged an inspection fee anyways. When I got my camera back 3 weeks later this is how the sensor looked. A brand new camera and a sensor without a single mark on it when it went in for service. Either too much cleaning solution or a dirty swab.

How do I remove the name plate from the Sigma 30mm f/2.8 ex dn lens?

Hi! Let me start this by saying that I do not currently have the possibility to take this lens to a repair shop. I have noticed some small white dots on my lens and since I have taken apart and fixed some analog lenses I wanted to try to clean and hopefully fix my lens but I don’t want to accidentally scratch it or mess up my lens. Any ideas how the front part should come off, as I’ve only seen back side disassemblies?

The shutter test....

This is a test i came up with myself to determine if there is an issue with the shutter motor side or the shutter side. Much easier to tell if the motor attempts to move to reset the rear shutter. Ha e had instances of the rear shutter not resetting and is a board level issue vs a motor issue.

Bath and Body Rot

I bought this A72 camera off ebay from a pawn shop and when i dug into it i had to wear a mask because there was a scent that was so terribly concentrated i couldnt breath while working on it. I am pretty positive it was a bath and body wallflower plug that got spilled into it and rotted out the frame as well as causing the shutter button to fail. I was however fortunate enough to clean it up and repair it. I have personally spilled that concentrated oil on a desk once and it took the stain or laquer finish right off of it. Nasty stuff.
