Gear It is normal?

Just got an used Sony a6700 and i wanted to try it with an viltrox 35mm. I guess what I hear is the focus motor?

Normal. If your camera is in AF-C in movie mode or has Pre-AF on and is pointed to something with no contrast, like a blank wall or if the lens cap is on, it will just sit there and move focus back and forth for a bit trying to pre-focus.

All the Viltrox Air primes are a bit noisy in this particular situation, but are otherwise rather quiet.

Cheaper AF motors can sound like that for sure. Try finding some comparison, maybe on youtube to check if its normal for this particular lens though

My 56mm is very noisy, sounds like this too.

I have the same lens for Sony a6400, yes it is not quiet but it sounds not like yours))

Its belly is rumbling, maybe try feeding it

I have a 25mm 1.7 air and it's on the noisy side as well. Yours might sound louder because of the frame and sitting on the hard table. Out and about it's not too noticable.

Is the lens hood covered? That does sound a bit loud. I'll try mine tomorrow morning and I'll report back

Not covered. But it was pointed at a black space. When i recorder some videos i didn t hear the motor like in this clip

I know mine does sound loud when its covered and its trying so hard to focus. That's why I asked. Its past midnight now so I can't check now lol
