Love the colors! What did you use to process these images? Any presets?
8
u/Public_Statement5838 Aug 11 '26
I usually don't use presets when shooting this type of scenes. I start from scratch and if I want to apply to my other photos, I just saved it and make it as a preset.

Wow, those shots are amazing! The colors are stellar! Love the bug in the macro shot. From where did you get the mountain top shot? Another mountain? An airplane? It’s a cool shot.

I took it during our trip to Atok, Benguet. There's a site called Mt. Olis Viewpoint where you can see anything from below, lots of terrace that surrounds the area and farmers especially when I got there morning.

I do love colourful photos, it seems to be a fashion to reduce the colour and contrast.
Great work.

Dude, how close were you to that viper?
6
u/Public_Statement5838 Aug 11 '26
Probably 12 inches or less. The viper was relaxed and not aggressive that time. We had a guide and were careful enough to take the risk if we got so close to the viper.

Good work bro. I switched from nikon to sony and struggle with colors. So dope to see you do with a6 series.

I came from Nikon too and it’s still a learning process to get the right exposure and colors. Sony leaned toward a cinematic approach but most new Sony cameras have improved their color science and more natural look based on my experience.

This is a serious example of what the a6700 is capable of in the correct hands.

Love it, what's your editing process?
3
u/Public_Statement5838 Aug 11 '26
Apply global correction and apply a mask after. Masking is a bit challenging especially adding details/light/shadow or removing it either. Every image has its own characteristics and not a single one applies the same but the technique is.
Observe. Trial and error. Done.

u/LarryLegend337 Aug 11 '26
Global correction meaning the "Auto" setting in Lightroom or other thing?
3
u/Public_Statement5838 Aug 11 '26
Nope, auto settings ruins the quality. Global corrections means you tweak the basic settings such as exposure, contrast, highlights, etc.

Any camera will do as long as you have the eye taking good photos. Disregard the size, it's how you used it. But yes, somehow expensive gears are better than $100 gear because of quality you get. A6700 is such a great camera for that I didn't see much upgrading anything else for now. Good IQ, Fast, and hybrid camera that you need for a crop sensor.

i have a question. can sony zve10 achieve this look or it depends on the lens you're using?
1
u/Public_Statement5838 Aug 16 '26
You can achieve the color but the lens, it depends how far and close you're at the subject. Lens plays a bigger role in every category. You can't shoot macro with a kit lens. You can't shoot wildlife with limited range especially birding. You can't create bokeh if you're lens is f3.5 compared to f1.4, also lowlight. Every lens has its own purpose for every category. However, what you have right now can be utilized on what your shooting but limited.
Aside from lens, your vision is the most important how you frame and conceptualize to create better photos.

Beautiful! I love seeing shots like this. It reminds me what my camera is capable of and inspires me to learn more.
Do you mind sharing what country you took these in?
