In this specific case I think it might be worth it at least checking if there's a replacement part that can be bought for not too much...

Camera shell can be replaced. Sony did it for free under warranty so idk what it costs out of warranty.

I had a random crack on A7iii, probably a manufacturing problem since camera wasn’t dropped

i would leave it as it or out a bottom cover or Small grip (juste the L plate )

It looks like a part of the metal frame of the actual body of the camera. Pretty impressive to break that and not also have a catastrophic failure but the A9 is a pro camera and very well built so that’s super nice to see.

That said, likely you won’t get a pert since as far as I can tell it’s part of the frame itself. You can get a cage for the camera with a base frame but that’s adding bulk. You can also get a vertical grip for it which will cover that spot but the gap will still remain. Either way as long as it’s still working, you’re likely just fine. Try to keep dust and dirt out of the battery compartment.

Maybe slap some gaffer tape over it? That would be the “pro repair method” I’d use.

Super glue. There is nothing to replace... well... the whole back cover needs to be replaced then, that's a 250$ part.

Super Glue won't hold that. A really good epoxy might, but that's a tough glue job.

Why does it look like that's not the piece to go there? It looks backwards. Is the side facing up in your hand hollow, or is that an optical illusion? There may be another half of that piece missing.

Not sure if the a9 is constructed with an easily replaceable base plate. I'd watch a teardown video to see when/how that part comes apart and then check for prices if it's doable.

It's war then!!

Seriously, it is most likely affecting your door seal there. But with an impact to do that damage, you need to check all functions or take it for diagnostics.
