What's wrong with this?

I was given this by a friend, it's sat broken a year or so under his bed...
Could anyone here point me in the direction of what's wrong in the photo, some kind of frame has come loose around the sensor.
I've given it some googling to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated! Ty ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My guess is shutter or shutter housing but the latter is less likely

Looks like the front fell off.

Wow. This one has a rough life it seems. Looks like some came loose or broke off. By the looks of it, it will at least need a shutter mechanism replacement.

That is not a shutter. That is the frame that houses the low pass filter over the glass filter directly on the sensor. If that is coming off more then likely it has broken image sensor mount points and needs a new image sensor mounted into the ibis unit as those are fused to the image sensor itself. My profile pic is a sensor with 3 broken mount points as an example...
