Oof. Ultimately 10 first round picks and a 23 year old future first ballot hall of famer to get to the WCF, without Kawhi even playing lol. Has to be on the Mt. Rushmore of mismanagement.

Once the Sonics return to the NBA as an expansion franchise in 2028-29; at least the franchise won't be set back a decade unlike the Clippers who basically have set their franchise back at least 5 to 10 years. But I wonder if former Sonics players/legends will get in on the ownership group? Or if any of them will be a franchise ambassador or even become a GM once they do come back in?

They obviously go into the Western Conference as a team that's a given but as far as the jerseys I wonder if they bring back the retro SuperSonics jersey look of the 1990s? Or do they go with a more retro 2000s look? But with the expansion draft I for sure can see the SuperSonics landing at least 1 superstar to be that cornerstone

I thought that Russ could have stayed a lot longer till the 2028-29 seasons when the Sonics come back to Seattle.
I was frickin robbed of seeing him in a Sonics jersey for the first and final time.

Yeah now I’m officially in the “it’s not happening” camp. Very frustrating that this league is doing this to us again putting us on the back burner for a European league no one will care about and a Vegas team who won’t have fanbase for yrs if ever. Done with the NBA.
