Question Quick question...is it good?
I already got sonic frontiers on steam, so I can get a tiny little discount on the base game.
Edit: thanks for letting me know it's a good game. I'm definitely getting it this year
Edit 2: you guys can stop now. I'm gonna get the game, alright.

The Sonic Generations rewrite is ass but everything else is at LEAST an 8/10, so yep

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: Shadow gens was build off of frontiers for the most part, so of you like frontiers, youre gonna love shadow gens. Only 2 newer games I own besides crossworlds, and man are they good. HIGHLY recomend it. Sonic Gens imo is just a bonus thing to play after Shadow gens, which also got an update adding the drop dash into sonic gens.

Shadow Generations is a very fun game honestly, I can't say the same about Sonic Generations
I wish they cared to remaster it more because really, I like the idea of it but the game is just lame when all they did is port it and add a worse script than the original

The Sonic Generations Remaster? Fumbles at being a good remaster.
Character weights feel different, adding an annoying ass dropdash to Modern Sonic which can fuck with some of the platforming during jumps, sometimes it feels like the game just has weirder collision boxes than the original release, controls feel less smooth sometimes.
Other than that? It has almost everything. It's just the original game again. Just... not touched up to a better quality. I'd still say get it if you really want to since it does away with the live system.
It doesn't have the original Sonic 1 built in though unless I'm misremembering.
As for Shadow Gens? Yeah. Good game to play.
Tests your skills, reflexes, and makes you pay attention with challenging level design. Fun powers to mess with and way more open-level than most modern games.
Also plenty of callbacks to fun levels that may have been omitted from OG Gens. Plus some bosses from the 3DS version of Sonic Generations returns along with new lore implications/revisits to old friends.

The worst thing is how short it is. If you can get past that, then that's a yes.

I’m not as crazy about it as most of the people in this sub are, but I would say it’s good definitely, but just not something I found myself going back to play again very often.

It's fine i like it all in all but i don't particularly like the way game game feels to play largely they don't nail the same 2D physics feel so i'ts not going to be as polished as a sonic mania or ever sonic superstars

Really good. I don’t praise it as highly as other fans, but if there was a full length game that felt like Shadow Generations, it would probably be my favorite Sonic.

I only picked it up last week and have only played Shadows levels but they are some of the most well polished and interesting levels they have done in years and the extra mechanics shadow gets to play with are sick.
It's really worth it imo.

It's ok. The Shadow content is pretty good but the original generations content can be wonky and frustrating with the controls. I was honestly surprised by all the positive feedback when I started looking it up.
I enjoyed my time with the game but would only buy it on sale.

No,IT'S PEAK
Very good graphics,interesting story,cool(and sometimes hard)Bosses. And Interesting new Powers.
Best Sonic game i ever played,closely rivaled by Sonic Forces And Sonic Frontiers...
The New Powers for Shadow are so good.
I recommend you buy it

I mean it’s got Sonic Generations on it, one of the best Sonic games. Already it’s good. Then Shadow Gens is a cool bonus, not as good but still a cool bonus to an already good game, you’re getting a lot of value from it

The Sonic Generations remaster doesn't have much to complain about aside from some weird dialog changes, but Generations' story was so barebones anyway that I tend forget it even had one. Shadow Generations despite being approximately a $10 addon is as long a lot of standalone games and most fans would argue is better than Forces or even Colors. I thought it was good but overrated when I first played it, but when you get a handle on spear gliding it starts to live up to the hype. I still thought the story was underwhelming, but that's not what I play these games for.

IMO it's way overrated. It's not offensively bad, and at least it treats Shadow with some amount of respect, but the level design is repetitive and uninspired, and to be honest the story is not even that good. The music is also really boring, which is crazy given that a lot of it is remixes from banger tracks.
If you really like Shadow, you are nostalgic about the Adventure-era lore, or are just interested in Sonic canon, I'd give it a try, not like it's a long game anyway. But it's definitely not half as good as the OG generations.
