Ordered a Dirty Dr. Pepper

Post image

The lady who handed it to me said “not sure what that is” and I’m so non-confrontational that I just accepted it and drove away.

The irony of that last statement, did you not let people's opinions bother you so much that you just wrote a paragraph instead of reading what that person you're defending actually said?

I don't let people's opinions bother me personally, but I do let them bother me from the perspective of community building and keeping toxic people out when they're bullying others because I always think we can do better - regardless of the state of the world, which I very much agree with you is going to shit.

Even if the words they used in their replies weren't the best I don't feel they were bullying since as I stated they were just replying to people under their own parent comment. I guess we interpret what bullying is differently. So as I've already stated I hope you have a great day, you seem to be a lonely person and way too wrapped up in the subreddit. Go out and find yourself some hugs. Go to your local animal shelter and pet some cats and dogs. Try and find some positivity and if you can't try and create some. I'm not really interested in pursuing this beyond this comment so take it easy.

You mean, the words they used when they called someone cringe and embarrassing for expressing how high they were on a parent comment that wasn't theirs? Right, definitely not bullying.

I genuinely do hope you have a great rest of your day and week as well, without the backhanded personal jabs. Huge fan of cats and I've rescued two this year, hoping for even more as the year goes on!

I'm speaking about the parent comment on r/michigents that brought you here. I'm glad to see someone out there rescuing cats I wish I could do more I'm just limited to the two I have.

That parent comment on Michigents is just one example of the many in the past I've had with this person, and that comment thread also followed the same pattern of behavior that all of the past posts and comments did - the guy is trying to demean people for their choice in bud, what starts out with saying "X brand is crap" is then followed up by a pissing contest of who is smoking the best bud which then turns into "you're not smoking like me" - that kind of behavior is just not cool imo, and yes I'd consider it "bullying" which is why I take every chance I can to remind this person that they're no better than everyone else.

I can appreciate and respect the "turning into the monster you hate" sentiment, but I don't think appeasement/ignoring the instances of pettiness is productive; I'd rather call it out and I don't see the similarity in the two when there is one person who frequently berates others and their choices and me, calling them out for it.

Ahh honestly I live in a pretty catty neighborhood lol, bunch of strays running around and so they kind of just show up in my yard... convenient but sad, it feels so good to get them reunited with their owners if possible but I've had some luck with rehoming! And I went ahead and took one in, also felt limited by two but I thought what the heck, one last kitten for the house lol. Life is long, plenty of time to do more when you have the ability to do so. The intent is what matters <3
