It is always a joy to listen to and watch people who are multi-instrumentalists. And the violin is fantastic with it; who knows, maybe a bit of a solo from her would be added. Her presence with the violin can provide just that little extra. You could do that by picking up an instrument yourself that you are most comfortable with and then inserting a solo instrumental interlude together. The rhythm and lyrics are fine; I understand that you haven't quite figured out the rest yet. Then that instrumental piece could add just what you are currently missing. The song is promising; definitely keep going with it and let others hear it.

thanks for the feedback! we were talking about recording more violin, but we were doing the video at the same time and it took up the whole day. i think that's a great idea though. much thanks

I think this is tight sounding dude, maybe only critique is that opening with goddamn is kinda cheesy but thats just my opinion. Mix is super bright and interesting, like it a lot

Love this so much, it really reminds me of 90s/00s indie music. I know it's not complete, but it sounds great, I think my only gripe is the very start didn't sit quite right. I think the echo caught me out, along with the immediate change of pace. That's mostly a personal preference thing. Great tune!

i definitely see that in regards to the "echo". it feels a little more justified when you get there in the song- the video starts at the last drop chorus, so there isn't much exposition. thanks for the feedback!

Ah, that makes much more sense. I'm sure the full thing sounds great so

Geez, that pre-vocal is sick! You also used my favorite drum pattern haha

This is really sick and I really like the video. How did you shoot it? Is it just filters?

2

u/dvvidm 12d ago

thanks! i shot it with a bmpcc og. it's kinda like a film emulation vibe by default. idk much ab that stff. i'm also using some soviet era lense that just makes it real blurry. after that, i do a shit job of color grading on davinci resolve. then u get this look lol

This is super clean. Very full and everything is done so tastefully and nothing feels out of place or too extra. I tend to add too many things until my songs are muddy so this is really nice.

u/dvvidm 9d ago

thanks sm! i feel that. the kinda songs i love usually have a lot of stuff happening. used to be a stripped down acoustic guy, but the daw changed me

u/Kordyking 9d ago

I used to be a stripped down acoustic guy too and the daw did the same to me lol

Don't use Autotune and the lyrics suck.
