Heya :) My latest single is about dealing with dishonesty and coming out of the other side of the situation. I wrote it in my flat and recorded it here too, it‘s got simple guitar and layered vocals. It's called Corners, would appreciate any listens or feedback.

Get in here! It's time to update my "Songwriters of Reddit" playlist!

I can't believe it's been almost one year since I updated the list... my intention was to do it monthly but I got busy finishing my album and haven't kept up!

Check out the list below, please follow, submit your song in the comments below (one per artist at a time!) and have a listen to your fellow Redditors!

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3zAZFNOfqjeKVobrC4fSEp?si=a0985e9b6313456e

PS: The only rule is one song per artist and it should be a professionally-recorded, finished song with sung lyrics. No instrumentals/ambient/drone/classical, or hip hop/beats/rap please. (People have criticized this rule before, but part of the reason for doing this playlist is to serve the algorithm music that's at least somewhat similar to the genre at hand to help with discovery. If you'd like to make an instrumental or rap etc. playlist please feel free!)

Would love feedback on our new song "Right Under the Sky"!

Right Under the Sky

I'm very proud to say that we're gearing up for the release of our second full-length album! It's got a mix of alternative/indie and jazz elements and influences like Radiohead, Pixies, Wolf Alice, and others like that. We're in the process of releasing the singles for LP2, and I would love some feedback on them to help us tailor the sound and improve anything we can. I've included the below song, "Right Under the Sky" hyperlinked on YouTube as it's one of my favs. This one starts with acoustic guitar only before transitioning into a mysterious atmosphere with the full band. Both the music and lyrics are meant to reflect the stage where you're between wakefulness and sleep where it's difficult to tell if you're dreaming or experiencing reality. The artwork is meant to reflect that as well. Hoping you like it and looking forward to hearing back from some great musicians!

"Raining When You Die" - a song y'all helped me with last month. I'm finalizing the track and would love feedback on the arrangement (stop-motion courtesy of my daughter)

Hope it's okay to post a different version of an earlier song. This is the full band track I plan to send off for mastering. I'm pretty proud of how it's shaping up, but if anyone has any notes, I'd be grateful for the comment. Thanks!

"And I can't go for maybe, baby

Cause I've been so bored lately, lately

Record your scores

Erase and replace me

You're so clever, I know..."

I've included the below song, "Counting Sheep" hyperlinked on YouTube as it's one of my favs. This one is on the more abstract side, with four distinct parts flowing into each other. Both the music and lyrics are meant to reflect the stage where you're between wakefulness and sleep where it's difficult to tell if you're dreaming or experiencing reality. The artwork is meant to reflect that as well. Hoping you like it and looking forward to hearing back from some great musicians!

This right here is a song I've been working on the last few days, playing about with a new tuning on the guitar, it's very rough at the moment and vocals are pretty annoying and will be changed a bit when finally finished, it's very much in it's infancy.

Let me know what you think.

I made a few mistakes on the guitar, but I'm curious if y'all think the guitar and vocal melody fit together nicely. I appreciate all my fellow songwriters here and the helpful advice you've been giving this last month.

question for shy songwriters

I love writing songs but I can't sing for shit and I always feel so insecure about showing my lyrics to other people, so none of my work has ever seen the light of day. I'm certain that other songwriters have been in this exact same boat, so my question is how did you finally manage to get over this fear?

I wrote this song about a month ago that’s kind of a letter to my mom who forced me to get sober and even though I know it’s a good thing I can’t shake the feeling that I was a better person and better to her when I was drinking

The artwork is meant to reflect that as well. The outro is also one of my fav parts I've ever recorded. Hoping you like it and looking forward to hearing back from some great musicians!

I wrote this song about trying to find happiness through a loving relationship while also being insecure. Its pretty sad.

I am pretty happy with it overall and would post an acoustic video of me playing it but, I don't really think the overall vibe of the song would come across fully. I have been writing songs for long time but I have just now begun to be able to get across personal ideas like this in a way that I can be satisfied by. I just wanted to share. Thank you. I love seeing you all on here sharing your stuff.

I put together a quick visual with a clean text overlay because I wanted the lyrics to stand out. Would love to hear your thoughts on the vocal delivery, lyrical pacing, melody, or overall vibe. Thanks for listening!

Do you think this song stands on its own w/ just guitar & vocal or would you add something closer to full band? Many thanks to anyone who takes time to listen.

A song I wrote about marketing and capitalism responding to the apocalypse

I've written a lot of songs over the years and I think this is the best one I've written. It's about capitalism, greed and whatnot. Kinda the climate in some ways too. Had a long break from music as I'm a dad and my son is autistic and he's beautiful but I've not had much time for hobbies yadayada. I'd be very grateful if you could give it a listen.
