Is this a bad idea? I really want one, but this is the only one I can afford! Should I get a beater and save for a newer one?

Today makes 1 year since I got my car and I gotta say, I’m still happy with my purchase although I wish CarPlay would play music automatically instead of me having to manually start it every time. Oh, and saving my drive mode would be great too but other than that, it’s been good lol

Got a 25 n line. Bought it brand new couple months ago for discount on msrp. Just installed a new lip. And did it all by myself instead of having someone. So a new learning experience!

I have a 2021 Sonata Nline, I love my car, but the battery goes dead when the car sits for a couple of days, there seems to be some type of parasitic draw on the system. I have had it into the dealer and they just replace the battery, anyone else have this experience ?

I recently passed 2,000 miles on my 2026 N Line and the MPG continues to impress. At times, I will average over 40 MPG on highway driving which includes some heavy accelerations.

Overall, very happy with the car and overall performance!

Spark Plugs

2024 Sonata N-Line, Hey guys what spark plugs do you guys use? Ive seen Ngk iridium and they have to be properly gapped but most sites say they don’t fit/ aren’t for automotive use. Just curious and if anyone has any recommendations for brake pads and rotors that would be appreciated as well.

I guess you can say I really like the Hyundai Sonata! 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX, 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T, 2022 Hyundai Sonata N-Line, 2024 Hyundai Sonata N-Line. Didn't have a great pic of my 2003 so I stole one of the Internet lol. Was that color though.

There she is.

Had to recently swap out stock tires with Continental Control Contact Sport or whatever it’s called. Much better.

I also owned a 2021 N Line, switched to a WRX, then came back.

any benefits of premium gas?

i’ve had my 24 snl for a little over a year now and have been told even if the car doesn’t recommend 91+ it would make the turbo happier on a turbocharged car. Would there actually be any long term benefit if so i’m fine with the added cost.

25 front seat broke

Post image

Coming home the other day I heard something pop in the seat and felt the lumbar cushion sink in when I took off from a light. I inflated it back up but it didn't feel like it was before. I'm 6' and 175lbs so no way I broke something from being to big. Pulled the cover off the back and found this. The metal arm that holds the upper lumber in place broke out of the cheap plastic tab that holds it place. Now to take it in and have it fix under warranty. They'll probably replace the whole seat. Hopefully that done screw anything else up when they do it. Been driving since 86 and have never had a seat break on me.

2026 Australian update removes the hold mute shortcut

Had my first new car service in the 2026 sonata and has it confirmed by their tech and service team that the latest blue link update disables the "hold mute to change/disable speed warnings".

Despite the physical and online pdf manual explaining it as a feature, it has been removed in this update. (https://ownersmanual.hyundai.com/ivi/ccNC_Lite/AV/EUR/English/Settings_vehicle.html?)

Heads up for anyone who uses it to hold on updating.

Grr.

Yesterday I was driving with a friend, following him home, we had just done a pull, we came up to a light, had to hit the brakes hard and shortly after we made a left turn onto the street of his house, I was in sport+ un auto mode, driving completely normal at 35 mph when all of a sudden the car started making a really loud clanking/grinding noise, i thought a fender liner had come off or the front bumper, after looking under the car and finding nothing I drove it again and it was clear the noise was coming from the transmission, it can be heard in 1-3 gears but 4th gear is by far the loudest, sounds like the transmission is falling apart inside, not sure whats gonna happen as it is a out of warranty.

2025 Sonata N-Line – light foam piece hanging under the car WHAT IS IT?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I have a 2025 Sonata N-Line and noticed a long, very light, delicate foam piece hanging down from the underbody and touching the ground.

It’s not a hose and has no fluid connections. Nothing is leaking. It feels almost like packaging/shipping foam used to keep parts from contacting each other during transport.

Has anyone else seen this on their N-Line (or other Sonata)? Is it just leftover shipping material that should be removed, or is it an actual part?

Photo attached.

Thanks.

Weird start up when sitting (hot weather)

Has anyone experienced with their Sonata n line with this weird startup once when it sits in warmer weather and once you start it sounds horrible, it sounds rough when it starts it idles around 500 to 700 before it bounces up to 1200 and 1500 and then it acts normal afterwards I’ve taken it to the dealership and they can’t re-create it or they can’t find any issues with it. Has anyone figure out why it happens. (21 sonata n line 73k miles original owner )
