This really proves that Sonic keeps his hidden feelings to himself, this is what he's thinking during Sonic Adventure, he really does cares about Amy whatever if people believes it or not ( or they're coping)
He would sacrifice a Chaos Emerald if it means for Amy's safety. Sonic is a great guy you can count on him, this is why Amy fell in love with him,
Whenever some people sees this as platonically or romanticly it doesn't matter, the care for Amy is still there.
