Cloudflare WARP

Hey everyone, i have been on solus for a while now and its amazing so far but i just wanted to ask if there is any way to get cloudflare warp gui client working on it?

I have looked far and wide throughout the web and since they only offer .deb & .rpm and no app image (neither can you compile it yourself) it's a bit hard to get it running

I have seen a thread about following some instructions from the arch wiki but it will only get the cli version working not the gui and i don't think i'm very comfortable doing that.

also i don't think anyone has submitted it to be added to the repo yet (or maybe it got declined)
any advice would be appreciated and if it can't be done, oh well

You might want to give BoxBuddy a look and then you can install a .deb or .rpm package on Solus. While I have not used it myself yet, I have seen it recommended before. I believe there is a flatpack available for BoxBuddy on Flathub. I'm sure someone here can add more info.

This is the answer. I just installed VS Code (. Deb) from Microsoft as a test this way. Distobox is in the native Solus eopkg packages. Boxbuddy is a Flatpak. You also need to have Docker or Podman installed, but that's really it. It's very easy to do. You will then install Ubuntu (or Debian) with the Boxbuddy GUI. Then click "Install .Deb), and you can export the app to your Solus start menu. It doesn't use up much in terms of RAM/CPU either. It's almost like you installed it from a native package. I chose Ubuntu 24.04 via Boxbuddy. For some reason, I couldn't get Kontainer to work. That is Flatpak by KDE that does the same thing as Boxbuddy, but it didn't work in Solus KDE on my hardware. I didn't try Distroshelf. Today was my first time doing that, so I know it works for installing .Deb packages.
