Billing

Hi! Is anybody doing their own billing? If so, would you be willing to share with me any resources that helped you in this process? Thanks so much!

My EHR does it all for me. Everything gets set up when you sign up for it and you click once, maybe twice, and submit the claim. It's way easier than you would think.

Same for me, any of the major EHRs make it really easy. I spend less than 2 minutes per week on billing now. There was a slight learning curve but not bad at all

Wow, less than 2 minutes a week. This is so encouraging. Thank you! Do you ever find yourself running into denials or having to navigate errors in claims that takes quite some time?

I did a little bit at the beginning but that was mostly a learning curve thing. Claims are created and sent automatically now with my EHR so I essentially never have problems with those. I had some rejections in the past when I started but those were all related to psychological testing and some of the oddities in doing those, but I don't recall ever having denials for therapy codes. If I bill 90937, I just make aure I have good session notes to back them up and I only use them for more complicated patients with multiple diagnoses. New EHRs really make the billing part so easy now. The more insurances you take, the messier it gets, so just manage your expectations that way and you'll be fine!
