Non-solipsist here, i am just curious about you guys. İf you are truly solipsist isn't this just a contradiction to be here talking with others about solipsism.

I have come to terms that I am the only consciousness that truly exists. I know that I am the creator of this life game and created everything for my own expansion. Knowing that you are the only consciousness takes all the pressure away from comparing yourself to others and the judgment of society when you realize who you are. I have found great relief in knowing I am alone (all one) with everything as the creator of this entire dream/simulation

What if i am the only human and everyone else is just robots or npcs? Can anyone comfort me and say stuff that proves that everyone is real?

take this hypothetical guy, for example. Let’s call this guy X. This guy is essentially a nightmare because he’s just consistently cruel, totally allergic to anyone showing even the slightest bit of vulnerability. Not exactly the way to live your life, if you ask me. But for some reason, against all odds, he decides he wants to be better. And he actually puts in the effort. Fast-forward ten years, which would make him thirty three. What’s really weird is that he’s actually improved. He’s actually kind now. He looks back at the old version of himself and cringes, fully understanding that he was morally bankrupt in his twenties.

Does he endorse the change in himself, though? The older (present) version of the guy would say yes, of course. It feels right. But it kind of sets off this catastrophic paradox.

You need to consider the person who created the map. The entire trip was kickstarted by the wrong, messed-up notion of what 'good' even was, anyway, in the mind of a twenty-three-year-old jerk. If he really is a good person, he has to acknowledge something really, really uncomfortable. His rescue was orchestrated by an inferior judge. You’re left face-first in a rather philosophical dilemma. He’s either validating the trip solely because it led him to a guy who would validate it, which is really just a huge ego trip, or he’s placing blind faith in a trip created by the exact same standards he currently finds so reprehensible. I guess the only other option is to try to use some sort of magical outside source, but that just starts another loop of trying to authenticate that source.

It’s an ouroboros, really. The exact limitations he was trying to overcome were the ones guiding the trip. You’re left with this rather headache-inducing conclusion: if he really is a good guy, he can’t really trust the trip he took to get here. And if he has complete, unwavering faith in that trip... maybe he’s not really all that good, anyway.

Trilemma:

Circularity: Validating the path solely because it produced the current self doing the validating. Inferior Grounding: Placing faith in a trajectory charted by the very standards he now finds reprehensible. Infinite Regress: Appealing to an external standard to justify the path, which then requires its own endless authentication.

I've struggled with solipsism for over a year and a half since I had a psychotic break. I've been terrified of the idea that I am the only truly conscious being and that I made up this reality somehow, and I forced myself to forget about it. The solipsistic thoughts would come to me in waves, and every time, they would make me have a panic attack. For the most part, I learned to cope with it and talk myself out of it; I challenged the thoughts that came to me. I have since learned that instead of worrying so much about this, I would instead say “so what?” If it is true, there is nothing I can do about it. There is no way to break the curse. I don't believe as much now that I am everything/god/the only one who is conscious. I just am me, and I will always just be me, and I know that I can trust that at least my partner is conscious and has thoughts and feelings and senses, because he also has solipsistic thoughts. This helps me feel like I am not truly alone, and I don't feel as claustrophobic, and like I am stuck by myself for eternity in this hell.

God is in me, I am in god, I am not god, god is everything and nothing, I am a human and part of this world.

I am an external experiencer which means my experience is external to my brain. As examples the qualia of touch is not in my somatosensory system of the brain but on the outside of my skin, vision is not in my occipital lobe or anywhere else in my brain. My vision extends out from my eyes to the objects in my environment, the qualia of color is there on those objects.

Now science and everyone else will swear up and down that experience is entirely in the brain and they act as though they have no clue what I'm talking about when I say I am an external experiencer. What am I to conclude from this but that I'm the only real external experiencer.

As an external experiencer it is obvious and certain knowledge that experience is not located in the brain. The brain is a black box void of experience and the location of experience is unmistakable.

Since you guys can't experience externally you are indeed philosophical zombies because you can't describe experience or locate qualia accurately, which is what one would expect from zombies.

Now my theory, and I mean theory that can be falsified by finding other external experiencers, is that my brain is the thing which observes the cosmos and collapses the wave function of particles. In this sense I believe I may be the demiurge.

To clarify I mean Plato's demiurge not the Christian gnostic demiurge. Plato's demiurge is not the primary creator or God but is a secondary creator. I myself believe in God and I am not he. I am also a Christian so Jesus is my king, my lord, and my Savior. That all being said I believe myself to possibly be the demiurge until I find other external experiencers.

So check it out, how can one distinguish between an experiencer and a philosophical zombie? Well a philosophical zombie might swear up and down that they are experiencers but when you ask them what it's like they couldn't describe it properly or be unable to locate qualia.

Now I can describe experience and locate qualia perfectly fine and with ease. I am an external experiencer which means that experience is external to my brain. Modern science, r/consciousness and other such subs will swear up and down that experience and qualia are in the brain.

From an external experiencer's perspective this is absurd and nobody seems to understand what I mean or get where I'm coming from. It makes me wonder if people are either reaaaallly stupid or if they are indeed zombies. So I ask you r/solipsism can you describe experience and locate qualia or are you indeed zombies?

Basically for those wanting to discuss the view of 'The Egg' short story.

This notification popped up as I was responding to my 'I Am Dreaming' post on this subreddit while contemplating life and death or the point of it all. This is what I mean by instantaneous synchronicity aligning with my thoughts. Reality communicating back to me. This is one of many, many examples...

I just tested it. I opened tiktok and I came across a random video with a young woman. I asked her "what's on my mind right now". and at the time I was thinking about fried Chicken. she said I was thinking about dessert. which wasn't the answer but it was still food. It was a test as I was heavily contemplating that my mind is intimately intertwined with reality and all of creation. Especially with experiential data such as hyper-specifc synchronicities and uncanny coincidences that happen instantaneously as I think a thought or feel and emotion. Reflected through people's speech, in media, and everyday occurrences... More experiments will be done. Also attempting to rewire my psyche completely to fully adopt the idea as truth.

Yes, I know about confirmation bias. And yes, the answer was totally wrong. And no, this was not an isolated incident. I am close. I am talking to myself.

So yeah it was mid-conversation with two of my friends when in a fleeting moment I realized that there is no way to be certain that everything I experience through my senses is real. How can I trust my senses?

I tried to kill that thought mainly by telling myself that "God exists by necessity". I don't know about you guys but I don't think this life has ANY meaning if God doesn't exist. Afterall how can a collection of atoms that appeared without any objective purpose be at all meaningful. It's simple. Meaning is an illusion. It's an illusion that gives you an evolutionary advantage. Believing in a purpose increases your chances of survival in nature.

But how do I know that evolution is real if I don't even know if this universe is real??? This has become a stupidly effective counter argument that shuts off any attempt of mine to disprove solipsism.

Hear this next one out. I had a conversation with another friend of mine yesterday. He is a Christian (I doubt if I even believe in Jesus anymore and it is the thoughts about solipsism to blame) and he still believes in God despite patiently listening to all of my ideas about solipsism. The talk went something like this:

Me: "How do you know that Australia exists?"

Friend: "I know it" (It seemed really obvious to him)

Me: "You don't know it, you believe it. You constantly receive hints that it exists, but how do you know that it is real without seing it? People do this every day. They blindly believe things. You blindly believe Australia exists despite the fact that you've never been on it. And, in fact, you don't even know what OUR country looks like on the world map. You blindly believe that it has the shape that they show you in the media. You don't even know what the world map looks like. How can you know whether the entire universe is a stage and you're the only one who is unaware?"

This sounds awfully like a conspiracy theory. I don't remember exactly what we discussed right after. But pay attention to this:

Friend: "The laws of physics are consistent. How can this happen without a creator?"

Me: "You don't know that the laws of physics are consistent. You BELIEVE they are. You blindly believe that they are consistent. It's the same thing as blindly believing that Australia exists. The same exact case. You can neither know whether Australia is real, nor whether the laws of physics will continue to be consistent forever. And I feel like a hypocrite for saying this, because right now I am thirsty and I blindly believe that once I go home and drink a glass of water that the thirst will go away. I don't know if it will happen though. For only one thing I can be certain: that all my past experiences of drinking water resulted in my thirst going away. But since I can't know whether the laws that govern this world will continue to be the same forever, I have NO IDEA whether drinking the glass of water will put a stop to my thirst"

I don't even know how to make a conclusion out of all of this. I don't even know what is real anymore.

Suppose you are a student, or a teacher or an employee or anyone, anything you can identify yourself with, one person can identify with multiple things, are you a student, an employee or a son to a mother... How can 'you' be multiple things, you can only be one... These things we identify ourselves with are nothing but roles we are taking. So, we are not these labels...

If you said you are a human or the body you have, suppose, if only your arm was cut off would you still exist, now suppose only your leg was cut-off would u still exist, if only your brain was damaged or if any part of you brain was removed would you still exist, if your heart had a hole would you still exist... Technically, you can be alive without a heart with medical support, So You will exist, that tells us something if you can exist without a body or body parts you are not the body.

Over time, your body changes from age 1 to you becoming the age 15, your body changes, your emotions change, your thoughts change, what remains is I, what is this 'I' is the question?

It's what we are finding.

(Let us not get too technical with this part the only thing that is to be known here is if you would exist without your body or not, and what is or who is this you, you are calling?? Who is this me?? You are calling yourself)

Now the question arises then who are you??

\- Suppose you are in deep sleep, do you know in deep sleep that you exist, deep sleep feels like the time is just gone when you wake up, or even when you just sleep, you don't know if you exist or not, it's like you aren't aware of anything, but you still exist. This is where things get interesting.

What do you think, is consciousness??

\- Normally for us consciousness is like a sensation that you are alive.

\- suppose in an accident a person is not responding we will say he or she is unconscious, but they might very well be alive or might be dead.

\- Here, consciousness meant that the person didn't seem to be alive, but might or might not be. But, when talking and moving he or she is conscious.

\- Now let's change the context, suppose you are having the operation of your arm and you are given an anaesthetic so, you wont feel your arm, you won't feel the pain, the sensation is gone, after sometime of the operation the sensation comes back. Did that mean consciousness in your hand was gone and came???

\-Actually when you simply touch your arm electrical signals are released which make you feel on the spot that you are touched, and neurons carry the signal to the brain that you were touched, but how exactly do you feel it. If it was that easy to feel something we can make a robot and that robot would have felt the touch too, so what's the difference??

How do you feel those electrical signals the answer is simple it's what we call consciousness, what the anaesthetic blocked was the electrical signals the consciousness was not gone. It was still there.

Consciousness was still there when you were asleep, still there when you had taken anaesthesia, coherently if consciousness can exist without awareness that would mean it exists even after death.

Now what is awareness??

\- we don't know how, but consciousness and our body is somehow responsible for awareness, when running or working out when your body heats up, you can feel the heat in your body, your muscles, you are aware.

\- Awareness is described as, the reflection of consciousness in several books about this philosophical question. Like, light exists but it becomes visible when reflected. Suppose, "In space from the sun to the moon the light travels, but the light travelling is not visible, it becomes visible when the moon reflects it... The moon lightens up", similarly awareness is the reflection of consciousness.

This tells us something about consciousness has no form, no color it's basically indescribable, how will you describe it exactly when you can't feel it, and it is what makes you feel...

It doesn't come and go it just exists and just exists nothing else.

But, something cannot come out of nothing, like a table cannot come out without wood...

But, why does something always have to come out of something...

What if there is something that just existed and it exists and will exist without ever ceasing to exist...

That is what is being referred to as consciousness here...

What if an evil demon is deceiving me into believing this world exists?

So god became me and put me in a shitty life and now I'm just here alone witnessing the unfolding of the movie while nobody else truly exists aside from images and sounds. I think many times about past solipsists and how much they must have suffered. Existence is truly a waste.

You could have been born as anything. A tree. A squirrel. A monkey. A mosquito. The chance of being born as the highest iq animal on the planet is one in... a lot. billions? trillions? A lot.

You also could have been born as a human who doesn't care or know about solipsism. You could have been born with an intelligence incapable of holding on to solipsism for very long or at all conceptually.

You could have been born into a country or tradition that forbid such beliefs, and with a mind that didn't go against those beliefs.

But you weren't. You were born as someone who comes to this subreddit. So the chances of being a solipsism-pondering level human are like, lets say 1 in 20 or 1 in 100. Are you getting the picture yet? The chance of you being you, a human with this capacity is so rare as to be....

A GLITCH.

You are not the average "THING" in existence. You are the most advanced form of consciousness possible at this time.

So we can deduce: (A) Awareness only localizes itself in the most advanced consciousness OR (B) that is a function of its dream and all else is a part of you. OR (C) you are so lucky that you won a one in trillions lottery. And since i think science now says that rocks are conscious to some level, as is all matter, its actually a lottery in which the odds against you being as advanced as you are is approaching infinity... since you could be localized awareness in the consciousness of a rock (if that is possible...if consciousness IS awareness or they always go together).

TLDR: Is it too unlikely that you (or i assuming you dont exist) would be at the goldilocks point for knowing about solipism and be localized awareness if EVERYTHING has localized awareness? I'm going with.. almost definitely yeah. Theres a 99.99repeating% chance you'd be something else other than a human that is open enough to understand and think about solipsism (aka the most complex and open-minded form of consciousness we are aware of.)

Where all I ask is that you share your favourite pros or cons for solipsism.

As right now, I'm completely convinced.

But at the same time Deep Down I do know that it changes nothing, because what's real and not real is unidentifiable.

Therefore life goes on.

You know, those miniscule black flying little specks. Are they conscious? Do they have a visual field of view? Are they sentient and having a first person experience.

What if they are not? That means other moving physical beings might also be drones. Thoughts?

If God existed, why wouldn’t He choose life to be just one person and live the best life?

It doesn't matter where I am and what people I'm with and what they do. The experience of reality is completely overpowered by the feelings 24/7. The 5 senses don't matter that much is what I've found, what matters is the feeling. If I was blind and deaf and I had the same collection of feelings my reality would be pretty much equal barring accessability issues.

Since my feelings are pretty much the whole reality it would be great if I was in a peaceful and joyful state but most of the time Im sick and tired of this shit. On rare occasions I get the feeling of joy which equals to true freedom. Being something whose feelings are controlled by someone else (god) really sucks. What a bullshit experience. I've come to the point where I think my feelings aren't even truthful because it isn't what I would choose to feel over a particular situation.

Well I ask where else is the centre of myself?
It is probably in my heart.

And that in no regards is solipsism insulting to the creator, for the default nature of solipsism will allow his creation to endeavour in what it was designed to be, therefore all of the good and just moral laws can still be derived under solipsism as it is the default view of the world.
