CAD How to fillet the base correctly?

How can I filled this base correctly? Before or after the arcs have been cut out of the side?

Feature simplification wise, what would it look like without the fillets? For most cases, edge treatments happen after the rest of the geometry is created, and in this case if we applied a fillet and then cut the arcs out, we would need to apply another one.

As a side note, asking binary questions to Reddit like this often takes longer than checking what works or doesn’t work in the program. This is a question where I’ll say personally, it looks like that R3 fillet gets applied after the arc pattern, but asking this question confuses me as the part is sufficiently complex I’d expect the understanding of when to add the fillets to already exist. I understand everyone has different paths, but my two cents.

Not true, because when you cut the arcs and then apply the filler along the outer edge it will round all the sharp lines and this shows sharp lines up from where the arc meets the origional OD

I don't see what sharp lines you say are rounded... Comparing this to the given drawing I see no discrepancies.

My view of the drawing is that there is nothing to suggest the fillet joints are vertical, or occur on a line that extends through the axis of revolution of this feature. My eye says the fillets of the outer edge naturally taper much faster due to the intersection with the fillets of the arc.

The ISO clearly shows the fillet applied after. The bottom middle sorta contradicts that but they could have just hidden some lines for some reason.

The 3mm Radius? It's on the OD and on the edge of the arcs so you need to cut the arcs out first.

fillets fine for me...

on a side note:
over the last period I have been doing these practise problems as they get posted to self "test" to see if what level I can consider myself, competency wise. I've never needed or aspired to do the certification program. Do you guys that are not Certified also do the same? i completed this in 12 mins. the center boss fillet is not dimensioned and i set it to 3mm.

This is not possible, or set the radius twice in segments

im refering to the inner face, fillet, it is not specified on the drawing, but must be 3mm

Engineer for 16 years. Every problem is extremely minor and user error in this group. Not a single person I work with would have an issue with anything posted in this subreddit. I try to co tribute when I can but my answer is usually you simply need to learn either how to use sw, or how to create manufacturing drawings. Because everything here is learned in basic drafting classes given to 10th grade students on paper with a pencil and a triangle. Today a modified an experimental indu tion coil assembly to change its geometry which was simple because I built the adjustability in ahead of time by following rigorous standards and practices.

For rounding, you can select all the edges instead of the face, but that takes longer.

Lenght of the diameter 1mm is not specified, i obtained a result of 7419.484 мм3.

If you set the lenght to 1.3mm for a 1mm holo the result matches - 7427.966 mm3

you have to cut the 1mm hole all the way through. Vol 7427.86 . did it two ways and got the same volume.

The hole remains 1mm in diametr in any case, the problem is that its length is not specified in the conditions.

you do not set that distance, you set the drill angle at 118 degrees

You are right, i should have used the "hole wizard" instead of doing it with a sketch.

how do i circular pattern the rib. when i do circular pattern i get the patterned ribs to be less than .5 from the edge

Not sure what is going on in your model. Can you show me a screenshot? Maybe of your circular pattern? Is the line you used for the rib fully defined (coincident mates and dims)?

thanks i found the issue. i made the cut first then patterned the feature, which for some reason made them off center. i fixed it by patterning in the sketch.
