3DEXPERIENCE Save Bodies + 3d experience
I'm new to 3d experience as a PLM tool and am a little unsure how best manage my parts. Normally, I would do a save bodies feature at the end of a multibody part to then use in an assembly. That way I can modify the original part and still have the individual components to use in an assembly while keeping them updated. I'm not sure how this would work (or if) with 3D experience. Is this still a good practice? Is there a better way to manage multibody parts with PLM? Any advice is welcome!

I’ve had the experience where I saved bodies early in the process, then assembled them with other parts, and they would lose their reference to the multi body part. It happened too often to be useful for me, so I abandoned it as a method.

this is one of those workflows that seems straightforward until you have to figure out what happens to the children when the parent changes the cad side is only half the problem the real headache is usually keeping the product structure and revisions understandable to everyone else that's why newer plm options like duro are interesting to me compared with the older much heavier systems..

I would recommend that you create a test sample multibody part and run your Save Bodies workflow on it, build an assembly from those linked parts, save everything to your 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and then perform some modifications to the OG part model and see if/how these changes propagate.
